Seismic Charges & Extra Munitions?

By ThisIsDavin, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Uhh, I meant Siesmic Torpedo... FFS

Does it? or does it not? I'm assuming it does, since Action Bombs are covered off with the same extra capability

Seismic Torpedoes are a torpedo upgrade so yes extra Munitions would work with them, they are no different from any other torpedo in all respects other than shooting them in the activation phase at an obstacle rather than at a ship in the combat phase.

I'd say that Seismic Torpedoes certainly are different when compared to almost all other torpedo upgrades except for Extra Munitions. The ST are NOT secondary weapons but rather just an upgrade that happens to sit in the torpedo slot.

Yeah your probably right about the wording, but extra munitions only cares that it's a torpedo upgrade card and that you discard it as part of its effect

Remember all your Bomb, Missile, and Torp upgrades get a token. So on a Gold Squadron Pilot with Extra Munitions, Bomb Loadout, and a Conner Net, you need three Ordinance Tokens

Yes, if you're playing somebody in a tournament who has a Y-Wing with those upgrades and they didn't bring enough munitions tokens to put one on each of those three cards, you should definitely call a judge over and complain about your opponent's illegal list, so they can hit you with a folding chair.

I think even I would ask for a sportsmanship DQ after being hit with a chair.

Why would you need 3 ordnance tokens? EM and Bomb Loadout each take a torpedo slot but give you a bomb slot and a EM token for the Conner Net.

Extra Munitions only cares about upgrade type, not whether they're actually a weapon or not. Since it and Bomb Loadout are both [torpedo] upgrades, you technically do have to put a Munitions token on each of them plus the Conner for a total of 3. And they can actually come into play if you run into Boba crew.

That's kind of bizarre. An ordnance token on my EM card that protects me from Fett but does nothing else.

Think of it as an insurance policy.

Or as a quirk in how they had to word the card with a happy side effect.

For an "easy" game it can really get weird!
