The STAR WARS AWAKENS review (Mr. Plinket) CAUTION: Language Vulgarity etc.

By Marinealver, in X-Wing Off-Topic

From Red Letter media this is the format that painstakingly reviewed the Prequels for a good 3-4 hours. Has finally got the review up. Now of course this format takes a long time to get the script and the side skits to go along so of course we expected a while before it was fianally released.

Keep in mind the humor is very crude like early South Parks level of bathroom humor so if you are not into that thing or can't simply ignore it I advise you do not watch the video.

Here is a trailer which should give you enough warning.

and here is the video.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!

That's my evening sorted. If this is even close to the quality of the Prequel videos it's going to be great :-)

Do people actually watch the whole thing???

Aside from the fact that you could almost watch the movie in that time, that voice/delivery is just...awful. I couldn't get past the 44 second mark. :)

I love that the first bit is reminding people just how godawful the prequels are and how no amount of crazy theories can undo it.

Greatness, as always.

Found the prequel apologist.

I enjoyed the prequels significantly more than I enjoyed TFA.

He is not one of us, shun him!

Great video as expected, although I don't get as much of the "soft reboot" vibe from this one, it adds enough to the existing story to not just be a redo. Agree with most other points, though.

Had it not had a Death Star or Cantina scene or a desert planet or a droid with secret information or a Vader like character or the Falcon, etc. I might agree with you. Sure it introduces new characters, but those characters don't really do anything that different than what we've already seen.

His point on their being no sexual tension is a pretty good one. I never really thought about it, but the movie does seem pretty stale in that regard.

See, those are all surface details and are set in a context thats different enough.

Well that is clearly wrong. You could just see the tension between Finn and Poe.

Oh yeah plain as day.

You need a pilot? ;)

It is not for everyone. The voice is the character to Mr. Plinket. A lot of potty and dark murder humor so again NOT FOR EVERYONE!

I like most of what RLM does. They are pretty funny guys.

Plinket makes interesting points. But he didn't cover this:

Start at 16:32

Mostly because it is a load of nonsense. Lucas betrayed the OT in RotJ when Han should have died on Endor, but he didn't want to make the kids sad.

Must have been a "soft, soft reboot" I think that is what they are calling rehashed story lines now these days. :P

Soft reboots marginally better than an out right remake like robocop or Ghostbusters.

´The silkiest of soft reboots, so cuddely that you might just not care!
