Suggestions for building a mean Commissar?

By MyDearestGuts, in Only War

My statline is here, http://i.imgur.com/vibgc59.png and my regiment is the Elysian Drop. So far I've taken ambidextrous and made parry known to negate the -20. I also have 200xp to spend, our next mission is against genestealers if thats important. (I'm gonna ******* die.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Save up for Two Weapon Wielder melee and ranged, or possibly buy Hatred Xenos Tyranids?

Save up for Two Weapon Wielder melee and ranged, or possibly buy Hatred Xenos Tyranids?

My DM, being lovely. Gave me Two Weapon Wielder for free, that leaves me stumped. Hatred Tyranids wouldn't make alotta sense RP wise; my characters never encountered them before. Thanks for the help though, I wasn't expecting to receive a reply.

I don't actually play OW , but would you be able to get weapon talent for flamers? Might help deal with the ripper swarms...

Edit: Drat! Meant the non-hybrid cultists! Went into anti-'nid mode by mistake

If you're the only leadership character try getting the Commissar advance that lets you terrify everyone. It's 250 xp, so perhaps you just want to save up... Alternatively, you could perhaps improve one of your stats to 40+. The increased bonus is usually very good. Particularly Strength or Toughness might be good for you.

What about +5 to Agility?

Not nearly as useful, as it won't increase his AgB.

The Terrify-improving ability is pretty important if you're likely to encounter a fear-causing opponent - not sure if Genestealers have it by default?

Fear can mess up a guard squad something rotten.

Other than that....depends if you have a Sarge.

'Stealers are fast and sneaky. They will make it into melee with you, and they will reduce a guardsman to hamburger in short order.

You need to have at least one character able to survive in melee. Note that "survive" does not equate to "win" - you won't - but if you can stand there on Defensive Stance with a chainsword, parrying a few attacks, you can buy enough time for a weapons specialist to pull a Hicks-style 'close encounter' with a point-blank sawn-off shotgun.
