Squadron engagement/movement

By Break Windu, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Hello everyone,

Picked this game up a couple weeks ago and having a blast with it! Had a question about squad engagement. Does a squad have to stop during its movement when it comes within range 1 of an enemy squad, or can it move its full distance?

Thanx guys!

Hi.

From the RRG, page 6:

"Squadrons do not engage other squadrons while moving even if a portion of the range ruler is at distance 1 of an enemy squadron. Only the starting and final positions
matter for engagement."

So for your question, while moving the squadron you do not have to stop if an enemy squadron is at distance 1 in the middle of the movement

Yep. Think of it this way.

You can only measure when the Squadron (or ship) is on the Table.

You pick it up , you move it along the Range Ruler, before putting it down on the Table Again.

THEN you can measure.

Personally, I add the little narrative in my head - the X-Wings just closed S-Foils to Transit Position and boosted forward, ignoring everyone, before opening into Attack Position again at the end...

Thanx guys! I appreciate it!
