Keeping the Theme Going: a Repaint Thread

Last night I Imperial Aced the Inquisitor to make him fit with the Interceptor and Defender. Have any of you made your own thematic ships?

All my stuff is thematic, to the point that I don't even enjoy playing a list that lacks some sort of theme.

That doesn't mean that I just paint all my ships a particular color, it means that there is something tying them together beyond mere efficiency in list building. Example: one of my favorite Imperial lists is based on Darth Vader and his "historical" squad-mates from the Death Star. Is it going to do well in the current meta? Probably not but it is reasonable effective, fun to fly and definitely thematic (which, as I's said, is important to me). Likewise, I like to fly my Rebels with their proper droids and squadron mates. I like to fly ships from the same time period rather than mix and match... unless that is part of the theme. I can't put R2-D2 in just any ship. I would never match BB-8 (from 30+ years post Battle of Endor) with Garven or Biggs who died at Yavin. I just wouldn't do it.

As far as paint, my Rebel X-wings are in the markings of Red-1 thru Red-5 from the Battle of Yavin, as are my Y-wings from Gold Squadron and my B-wings in Blue Squadron markings

My Imperial ships do have some common squadron markings (181st Fighter Wing and Royal Guard) whereas a few of the generic TIEs actually have some "ace" markings to differentiate them.

Now, my S&V ships DO have a theme when it comes to custom paint. In my mind, they all belong to a mercenary squadron called "The Skulls", that have a preference for Mandalorian ship designs. There is no common paint scheme but they all bear the squadron insignia of a skull displayed on them. So far, the squadron includes a Star Viper, a Fang, two Scyks (one with added heavy weapon gun pods) and a Firespray.

That's actually not a bad job. Seen too many repainted ships and thought, why they do that to a perfectly good ship. This actually looks really good and sharp.
