If you have 3 stress token on a ship and boss crew do you get your evade and target lock?

I ask because looking at the wording it says if you are not stress receive a stress. Then assign a focus....

So if you are stressed does the second part kick in? Since your stressed already you can't gain another, and it feels like since you were unable to fulfill the first part the second doesn't happen

This is covered in the FAQ:

Bossk triggers each time you perform an attack that does not hit. If you are not stressed, you receive a stress token. If you are already stressed, you do not receive an additional stress token. Then, whether or not a stress token is received, assign 1 focus token to your ship and acquire a target lock on the defender.

If you are not stressed you must receive 1 stress token. THEN...

I do not believe 'then' is dependent on receiving the stress. It seems to be dependent on the trigger of missing an attack and the first operation being checking and possibly receiving a stress.

My interpretation.

With the defender title, the x7 get a free evade when you do a 3-4-5. Can you push the limits off that?

I was thinking if you bump you get your evade, but technically it's not an action, as it's just assign,so if I bump your ship, get my evade, I cannot push the limit, correct?

Thats why the x7 title is so power, and Ysanne is so terrible.

x7 cares not about bumps, rocks, or stress, but Ysanne hates stress (or the crit no actions)

No, you do not get your Evade and Target Lock.

You do get your Focus and Target Lock, however.
