Several questions

By Slade, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi there. Been going through another solo run through and ran into several questions. I think I got it all right but wanted to check with you to be sure.

1. Can familiars use surges when they use items? In my case a summoning stone was using the stasus rune if I'm correct.

2. LOS question.

Unit A has a blocked space directly north of it (they are adjecent). There is another friendly/enemy unit B directly west of unit A (they are adjecent). Unit B and the blocked space therefore touch eachother on 1 point. Can unit A draw LOS from that point to any space to the west of it?

With LOS being reciprocal it turned out it was pretty hard to hide my wounded characters behind obstacles and friendly units.

3a. I played a scenario (RtL) were monsters appeared at the other end of the map 1 by 1. The app didn't specify that it was a master or minion so I ended up placing a master first.

3b. Those monsters on the opposite side of the map had to spot in their activations. Since there wasn't any of my units that could be spotted I ended up moving the monsters 2 times to close the distance with my units. I think that made sense but I couldn't find a 100% clarification in the rules, I may be reading it incorrectly.

Yes, but only surges on that weapon, not the surges that are granted by, for example, hero abilities.

Yes, just like normal LoS rules.

Page 6 of the RtL rules: Masters are always placed first.

Page 8 of the RtL rules: A spot actions means that a monster tries to get within 3 spaces of a hero in LoS. If the monster doesn't have enough movement points, it tries to get as close as possible and in LoS.
