Marksmanship?

I think it might be ok on mini-Dengar Quickdraw.

Instead of focusing on Rage+Baffle (Raffle!?) self-inflicted pain, take Marksmanship and FCS, then joust the ship you want out.

Whoever dares to shoot you, is getting a bucket of fully-modded dice.

I've been kicking around this idea as well. I dislike that it winds up being so much more costly than Rage/Baffle, but it does let you modify each attack Quickdraw makes without taking stress upon yourself.

I use it on Norra with EI and title so I can TL and then use Marksmanship. If you roll some blanks use the TL to reroll them...if you roll all hits and focus, then use her ability to turn the TL into an extra focus and hit with a crit and 3 hits. One more hit if at range 1

I think it might be good for Vessery, so he has a TL and a focus for his shots, which makes him pretty nasty. Or is this just a bad idea?

You will need a way to give vessery an extra action so he can target lock and Marksmanship. Experimental interface allows for it but it fills up the modification slot and gives stress and with the dial you will want to put Twin Ion Engine Mark 2 in that slot instead if you were going to spend any points on it.

Thing about marksmanship is that it is very expensive for what it does. It takes away the advantage of a focus token being able to use it for defense by modifying 1 result to a crit which unless shields are down won't mean much. Plus since there are two damage decks still active the crit is not too much of a concern.

I thought the whole point of Vessery was that he gets free TLs when he first one a ship that is already locked. Run him with TIE Advanced/TAPs or /fo or literally anyone who can TL.

You want to run Rexler with it, that allows his ability to trigger

Rexler (41)

Rexler Brath (41) - TIE Defender

Marksmanship (3), TIE/x7 (-2), Experimental Interface (3)

Its 41 points so it is expensive, but when you can flip all your damage cards face up, that's priceless.

It's actually not half bad on Han

My bolds.

Point 1. Vessery, ideally, doesn't ever want to take a target lock action - his whole ability is that he gets free target locks when other ships have his target locked.

Point 2. Crits are crits. Yes some crits in the old deck are basically ignored by some builds, but to suggest that crits are not much of a concern seems just... naive.

On topic: I think Marksmanship could be a good upgrade to go with TIE/D, but it is 3 points, on an already expensive defender - TIE/Ds 2nd biggest failing is that it doesn't make the Defender any cheaper, it's biggest being that it doesn't give them a free evade token, which is a very hard prospect to turn your nose up to in a world where Green dice betray you at every turn, and everybody shooting at you seems to be getting 3-4 hits.

I could see it on a tractor beam Vessery, as having 2 fully modded shots is a nice prospect (especially if the 2nd shot is against opponents who've been dragged into range one and who are down a green dice).

Still think 3 points is a bit steep for a glorified attacking focus though.
