This is the 1985 Robotech which was a remaster/redub of the The First Robotech War (The Macross Saga), The Second Robotech War (The Masters) and The Third Robotech War (The New Generation)

I remember watching this when it first came out in 1985, and most likely missing a number of episodes because the only way to record them was via VHS and hoping no one changed the channel...

So I'm quite excited to share what was IMO one of the great cartoon series with my kids.

I haven't seen that in a dog's age, hmm should fill a few nights.

I remember deciding to save up enough allowance to buy blank tapes to record it on. That summer was the year it went off the air. When DVDs became a thing, the complete saga was one of my first DVD purchases.

I wonder if this means I need to bump up the priority of assembling the kickstarter miniatures and working up rules to play robotech dogfights with the flight path system.

Someone gave me all these on DVD at some point! I am happy to see it on Netflix. I wonder what's different than the copy I have?

I still want one of them motorcycles that turns into some sort of power armor...

I watched this when I was a kid and that's pretty much all I remember (aside from a vague memory of enjoyment). I'll have to check this out, see if it lives up.

Yeah, Mospeada. I believe that was a seperate series in japan, that got roped in with Macross when they turned it into robotech.

Arguably the coolest motorbikes in all of anime. (Sorry, Kaneda!)

Actually, I did watch it as a kid. I had to find crappy VHS tapes of it as it wasn't on tv where I lived. Man, what a great series! I will admit that Minme's singing still haunts me, though.......<shudder>

I am lucky enough to have a local library with all the episodes: King County Library in Washington state...

I watched this show everyday after school in the 6th grade and continued to watch on VHS for years. I had all the RPG books too (someone stole them unfortunately) and I really wanna play again.

I think I have all the RPG books in the attic.

I had most if not all of them at one point as well.

Actually ran a short adventure for it once at the Virginia Tech campus for a con they had there once.
