Storage Again -- Game Plus Bags

Does anyone have one of these and what trays did you fill it up with for what collection makeup?

What troubles do you have when it comes to set-up and clean-up?

I'm not enamored with the tackle box and toolbox options and I'm looking at needing to carry more than just my fleet for the day which is all my current solution solves for leaving the house.

Not crazy about the pre-cut layouts for trays from Feldherr and Battlefoam although the Maxi Feldherr bag with these pluck trays looks like an option.

I'm also looking at dealing with X-wing stuff as well.

I have an extensive set of feldherr trays, plus I just got some of the pick/pull foam.

I really like the pick/pull, but you should plan how to use it carefully for max usage. Also, some ships don't work well in pick/pull, because they are very tall. (AFM, ISD, maybe VSD)

One problem with the maxi bag is that if you don't fill it, stuff falls out of trays when you pick it up. (Top when loading is sideways when carrying...)

My current problem is trying to find a way to fit bases & fighters into the bag.

This is exactly what I use. I also have the slightly less tall Portable Warfare bag - both use the same size trays. I use them for Armada, XWing, and the occasional Star Trek Attack Wing game. I quite like them, but I do use small plano organizers for the tokens. I've chosen to pack the ships and their bases separately (in the foam trays) so even though I have a good size collection, I only have enough bases with me that I typically need. This makes set up and take down time a bit longer because I pull everything apart. But it means less to carry back and forth to the store so I'm good with it.

Miniature Market is the only place I know of that sells the trays. They will very occasionally have them on sale and I usually stock up. I just buy a few trays of each different size and then organize ships by same faction + similar height (or width if I put them sideways) in a single tray.

I user Battlefoam's bags and Armada and Xwing Foam. The best reason is due to I was an avid player of Warmahordes, and I was able to move those trays out and buy replacement trays from them and essentially swap games at a cheaper cost.

I got Feldherr for X-Wing but I'm not super convinced I'll continue using them for Armada.

The cost of buying pre-cut Feldherr trays or shipping their pluck foam from overseas gets real close to the cost of a brand new Battlefoam 432 with pluck foam.

I use those game plus bags and I can fit my entire collection in one bag with more than enough room to spare. Currently at 2 ISD, 2MC80, 1 Liberty, 3 Vic, 1 Glad, 4 Raider, 3 Cr90, 2 Assault Frig, 2MC30, 1 Interdictor, 4 Gozanti, 2 Med Transport, at least 8 of each fighter pack, and 2 one inch trays for bases. I will tell you for the ISD the 2.5 inch foam is the sweet spot. The 2 inch foam inserts work for the rest of the ships just fine. Honestly I love them. You can put a 9 pocket folder for your cards in the back flap and the side things are great for storing bags for dice and tokens and what not. I cannot recommend these bags enough.

Personally I went with bright pink so I would never get mine mixed up with anyone else's.

I'm using my bag from the Stele Open filled using the BOGO from NOVA...... swag

I'm going with the Feldherr foam in an old Charon Studio's Skirmish pack. I'm only going to use it to house my larger ships, ISD/VSD/MC-80's/Interdictors. The best part is that I can fit four stacks of foam six inches thick in the bag. All of my small ships and squadrons will be in a Plano box, as I have a lot of small ships and it's easier to organize them this way.

I have been using my old Army Transport bag from Sabol, with generic pluck foam trays. I don't like the precursor stuff because the trays rarely represent what I have in my collection, so I either have ships with no spots or spots with no ships.

With pluck foam I can plan it out exactly for my own collection. New ships go in a new tray - doesn't much matter what order I buy them in. :)

Squadrons are going in SirWilli's micro hangars, then into foam trays to protect the boxes .
