Useful Snap Shot combinations

Ooh, I hadn't thought of Wes with Snap Shot, that's neat.

Getting him into range 1 without exploding is still a trick. Without serious support I've seen Biggs explode at range 3 too many times.

As someone who has loathed/feared phantoms for the entirety of my time playing xwing, I'd be happy to see a snap shot phantom on the table, particularly where they are burning up palp to push through a hit from a two dice attack.

Greens with Snap/Juke or Crack seems like the easy one. Cheap and painful.

I fully intend to swap my Mithil's Predator with Snapshot though. 3die snappy goodness. Gotta love when an old ability was written for a ship with no secondary weapons but the wording allows it to work on all attacks :D

Scourge is another one. If the target in question has a damage card, he adds a die to his roll. I often run him with Mithil, as theyre both PS7 usually Mithil and whatever my other ship together either utterly destroyed my target or did a damage card so scourge can finish it lol

I think there's something in ten numb with snapshot. Roll the dice and hope for a crit. 2 points for a 1/4 chance of unblockable crit in the activation phase seems reasonably ok.

The jousting ship with a 2k hates being close? I disagree, especially given that what ruins them the most (torp scouts) prefer murdering them range 2-3.

This seems extremely niche, but Ketsu Onyo crew has some squad-wide effects with Snapshot. You prevent Tractor Beam card from being removed, so Snap Shots in your squad become more effective.

Also niche, but if you had the Shadow Caster title, and have your Mobile Arc pointing forward, and a target landed in your Range 1 primary, you could take a Snap Shot, and if you hit, you'd assign a Tractor Beam token. I can't think of that being good enough to bear thinking too much about, but it is an interaction that exists.

Yeah, thats true, the shadowcaster title just says "attack" so long as your primary arc is facing forward (or you did the corner crap where both arcs can see the target...i could see that being argued as working) then thats another tractor.

Though thats something i dont think i'd intentionally try to do. From what ive seen from observation, that thing rarely gets front arc on anything.

What about r3 astromech? Can't modify anyway so cancelling a focus, who cares now u are focus evaded for the combat phase.

R3 is primary only. Snapshot is a secondary.

I just spent a good 15 minutes making a list including Wedge and Wes with Snap Shot and R3. I always forget about all of R3's stupid restrictions. It would actually make an awesome combo on the four X-wings with an ept slot. I had them paired with M9-G8/Weapons Engineer Thane. So the X-Wings could get a reroll and a focus on their primary shot, and potentially have an evade going into the combat phase. BUT NO, STOOOPID R3 IS SOOO DANG STOOPID!

I would like to contribute Snap Shot Wedge to this discussion though. His pilot ability appears to work well with snap shot. The only difficult thing will be that you have to hope they fly into his arc.

Honestly, though "hoping they fly into your arc" is the most fundamental element of this game.

Random idea: Major Rhymer - TIE Shuttle, Snap Shot, Tactician, Darth Vader

Probably too expensive for a kamikaze in practice, but its mere presence will put the fear of the Dark Side into Soontir Bloody Fel.

33 points is definitely a bit dear.

31 points (just Vader, no Tactician) is on the scale of Quickdraw, and may well be worth it.

Tactician > Vader on the Rhymer shuttle.

Snapshot goes off before actions, meaning you cant arcdodge or token up. If you stress them at range2 because of Rhymers ability, they get no actions because theyre stressed.

Besides do you really want a 31-33pt 6hp ship with 2agi damaging itself? Bombers biggest issue is the random crit they didnt dodge ROYALLY screws them over, dont feed into that weakness. i never understood why people keep putting vader on a tie shuttle.

Could Oicunn or any Deci with Vader on board be quite painful?

Oicunn wants to crash, but if he falls short, or causes an enemy bump queue, that could be quite mean

Arvel Crynyd or Gemmer Sojan.

Especially Arvel as he can still shoot when blocked. So block that ace. have them bump into your front arc. Snap shot them. Then they can't shoot at you back because they bumped... but you get to 3 shot them again! Sure no secondary EPT, but you can give them some hell.

I'd also want to give the TFA Chewie a try.

Bump, snap shot, anti-pursuit laser damage. Fly with biggs, biggs dies, shoot again. get shot and die, blow up with dead man switch. Pair with a GSP with snap and juke. If GSP dies, chewie attacks again. Could actually be a lot of fun chaining damage.

Snap Swarm, enough said.

Arvel with snpshot could be interesting. Especially attacking the person twice after hopefully blocking them.
