Is it worth running Torkil Mux in a Shadowcaster build in order to make the most of the Tractoring and ensure ships get their shots off? I've been trying it for a week or two and I'm concerned that I end up short on firepower even though I've shifted several high PS aces out of arc or onto roids while they're pilot skill zero.

This is the key. Your Tractor Beams must shoot before your other ships.

Believe it or not I've had good results from Delta Squadron Pilots with TIE/D and Tractor Beam. Skill 1 but 2 of them focus firing can make a big mess.

Yep I have had the same luck with Col. Vessery with Tie D, tractor beam, and Tomax Brin with munitions and crack shot. The key to the tractor beam is the your highest pilot skill ship should have it. So decide who will have the Tractor beam then build a squad to shoot after.

Agreed. I found she works well on Zuckuss with VI, FCS, Mist Hunter, Tractor Beam. Still tricky to pull off though.

Torkil with Dorsel Turret

Beginning of combat phase, Torky bust someone down to PS0. Ketsu assigns a tractor token, then fires at them with focus/re-roll, assign a second tractor token, Fenn Rau fires with focus and target lock at someone with -2 agility. Torky fires turret at target with -2 agility

The list rewards focus fire and actually helps you drop targets quick. Also, each one is able to do their thing solo and is equally annoying.
