STAY ON TARGET PODCAST: Episode 15 - "Two Winners and a Couple Losers"

By davidhaus, in X-Wing

Hello everyone! There have been a couple big tournaments in the mid-west/south recently, and Wave 9 was legal! So we decided to interview the winners of these events (Tommy Adams and Zack Matthews) and discuss the impact that Wave 9 had, as well as what we expect to see at Worlds in a month or so. Join me (DHaus) and Gordon this week as we interview a couple winners and then finish with some meta discussion towards the end.

0:00 - INTRO

3:15 - BLUEGRASS OPEN w/ Tommy Adams (winner)

30:29 - CROSSROADS CLASSIC w/ Zack Matthews

1:17:00 - CLOSING w/ THOUGHTS ON THE CURRENT META

UPDATE: We still don't know what happened to Franch. New theory is that Franch found himself in a group of Bothans that died retrieving stolen plans. We may have a wake during the next podcast for him.

There's also a contest this month, although I'm probably going to wish there wasn't... ;)

Have you guys really looked into having a direct download link? If not can you guys look into getting your show's transcribed?... I think there's a free program for that. Until then I will never be able to listen and share your podcast.

I miss your show. :(

:(

This has been requested before, we'll pass along the request again.

Gordon who? :)

I think your analysis about how much damage defensive Asajj does is pretty spot-on. You have to get a feel for when your opponent is going to ignore Asajj, and run into range 1 w/ TL + Focus.

Okay Paul, how much does David have to pay you to be on the show? (here's where you can say Pao's going rate is only $100, but Paul's is $1000 ... either way, the goal is to get David to cough up the cash and I want you to split it with me)

Regarding Asajj: Yep, that was my take as well, *after* it was too late. Going to need quite few more matches with the shadowcaster for me to get a feel for what you are proposing. The question is whether or not to dedicate the required practice time in the month to come in pursuing that knowledge? Oh the agony of deciding a World's list!

Thanks again for having me on guys! You guys talked about the shadowcaster before i came on. It's gotten a ton of love, but i still haven't figured out how to load it up and what goes with it, it kinda reminds me of a better hwk with how disruptive the pilot abilities are.

Was glad to have you, Zack. Congrats again on your win at the CRC!

The shadowcaster feels just a tad over-costed to me, which is probably more reflective of me being spoiled by the under-cost of the jumpmaster. I feel like if you're going to sink that many points into a ship, you better be able to kill half of the opposing list with it (which isn't necessarily true, see Manaroo). But yeah, it does seems like a bit of a contrast in its nature if you run the title because it serves as a super support ship by handing out that tractor beam token if it can land at hit, and yet I wish it could do more work like, say, Dengar with this double tap ability. So, since I'm off of Asajj for the time being, maybe Ketsu instead is the way to go. Time to start tinkering with a Ket-sanaroo build. :P

Yes, direct download link please.
