2 noob questions - help appreciated

Hi,

1. Do surviving damaged units retain their damage when they return to the HQ after winning the battle (I think they do (from the tutorial vid)?

2. Do you play deployment cost again from a unit that has returned from a won battle to reassign him in the next round?

1) Yes.

2) No. Deploying something is playing is from your hand. Any units that are in your HQ remain there until the Command phase, at which point they will commit to whatever planet your Warlord does. Unlike your Warlord, they arrive there exhausted.

Also worth mentioning; surviving units normally only return to HQ if the battle was at the First Planet. If the battle was at any other planet (because a Warlord was there, or because of any other card ability) then the survivors will stay at that planet. (The Warlord always returns to HQ).
