Hi I'm eagerly anticipating my first ARC and thinking of lists.
What are some good ideas for having a single ARC? Are two ARC lists better than single ARC lists?

Not necessarily
The thing you have to remember about the ARC is.. it's weird. Small base aux arc simply does not fly like a normal jouster, due to the whole having an aux arc thing and all
Rather than jousting, it sorta just keeps on cruising and still contributing to the firefight.
ex:

Its slowness, though, imo makes it difficult to include with more traditional jousters since it doesn't want to move like they do and has a hard time rejoining the squad once separated

Adding a second ARC makes the squad a lot easier to manage as they move the same way, but a TLT (hello, Miranda) is also quite capable of following and covering its ARC buddy as it doesn't have to be facing enemies in order to attack them

Finally, ARCS are slow and 1 agi and are ergo stupidly easy to kill when your opponent can concetrate fire on it. Therefore, ALWAYS BRING BIGGS
as for the build itself
the ship is completely defined by its aux arc
its aux arc at 2-dice...sucks
you have to make it not suck
how?
stress mechanics (R3-a2 is a must; tactician/gunner augment it)
Norra's ability with tailgunner (tailgunner doesn't do enough normally, because 1 evade token just stonewalls your damage output)
Norra herself also basically needs PTL to make reliable self sufficient use out of her ability at all. ARC dial and rear arc actually make getting stuck to green maneuvers not as big a problem as it seems
since you're doing greens and have an ability you can use defensively, r2-d2 is hands down the most effective astromech you can put on her. It turns her into an utter monster in the late game
Vectored thrusters are nice on any ARC too
What was the ARC/Biggs/Miranda list you used above? I've been trying to come up with a squad with those 3 ships but I've had trouble making them all fit.
gunner r3-a2 (title obv) braylen
r4-d6 integrated biggs
TLT homing missiles extras Miranda with long range scanners (5 dice as Biggs keeps you safe from retaliation, letting you use your ability offensively for no real risk)
What do you think of a 2 xwing 1 arc list? Nora Biggs and ??

Wes Janson of course! Wes w/R3-A2, IA, EPT of your choice? Wired? Predator?..... stresses opponent, takes token away from dengar, boats, kanan, other Arcs etc.
Nora: Title, R2-D2, Vectored Thrusters, Tail Gunner, PTL
Biggs: R4-D6, IA
This list rolls in at 98 with Wired as EPT. 100 pt squad with Predator. I dont think this is a bad list!
I actually have a Triple-ARC build I'm dying to try:
Norra Wexley (35)
ARC-170 (29), BB-8 (2), Push the Limit (3), "Zeb" Orrelios (1), Alliance Overhaul (0)
Shara Bey (35)
ARC-170 (28), Targeting Astromech (2), Wingman (2), Weapons Engineer (3), Alliance Overhaul (0)
Braylen Stramm (29)
ARC-170 (25), R3-A2 (2), Tactician (2), Alliance Overhaul (0)
Total: 99 points. 1 point free to upgrade Braylen to Thane if you want the PS4/Thane's ability instead. Squad flies in formation; Braylen/Thane stresses a target, Shara locks on and helps peel stress off of Norra's PTL (or Braylen/Thane if they need it), Norra puts Zeb to good use by trying to get into Range 1, even if it means bumping. Then they focus fire on a single ship, trying to take it down through sheer weight of fire while trying to tank incoming fire. Pull a really slow maneuver, let the stressed enemy ship get right behind you and blast them with the tail guns. Rinse and repeat.
I've been enjoying playing this 1xARC list:
40 Miranda w/ TLT, Chopper, HomingM, LRS.
26 Biggs w/ R4D6, IA.
34 Thane w/ R3A2, ProtonT, Title, Chips.
It's a pretty great alpha and Miranda paired with Thane is great in the mid-endgame. Do they kill Thane and let Miranda survive to the endgame, or try and kill Miranda and give you free actions on Thane?
I've also been playing the list that Fickle was using:
42 Miranda w/ TLT, Chopper, HomingM, EM, Chips.
26 Biggs w/ R4D6, IA.
32 Braylenn w/ R3A2, Gunner, Title.
As with the other list, Miranda wrecks face and Braylenn's a jerk that shuts down enemies whilst still being useful.
You could also go the double regen route:
35 Miranda w/ TLT, Chopper, LRS.
38 Norra w/ PtL, R2D2, TailG, Title.
26 Biggs w/ R4D6, IA.
Both Norra and Miranda are nasty in the endgame.

I'm not convinced that Weapons Engineer is that great without M9-G8 or R7 - because that second target lock won't be on someone you're shooting at - in an ideal world you'll be concentrating fire on one target, so that other lock is best used to on a friend to boost their attack or a foe to reduce theirs.
I'm wondering if Tailgunner & Outmaneuver might be an option for Shara Bey. The ARC feels a bit expensive to justify Crack Shot. Targeting Astromech is a nice thought. Shara with Targeting Astromech and Braylen can actually get to fly their ARCs at a reasonable speed....

It's an expensive fighter. If you're not hung up on single-type squads, I'd echo FickleGreenDice - Biggs is and always will be a very good rebel ship, because messing with people's targeting choices is amazing - especially if you can judge the firing arcs correctly such that your opponent isn't compelled to shoot biggs with all of his squad but merely most of it - the worst thing you can do in the game is 'spatter' fire across multiple ships, especially those able to repair damage.
Secondly, Biggs' ability is almost custom-made to match Thane's; Thane is not the best ARC pilot in a vacuum - that's probably either R2-D2/Push The Limit Norra or R3-A2/Gunner Braylen - but a guy who gets free actions when someone else is shot at, paired with a guy who forces enemies to shoot at him?
Well, the purpose of taking Weapons Engineer is A: in case your original target moves unpredictably, or B to increase effectiveness on a secondary target in the event of overkill. I'd love to hear suggestions, though!

at this point, Biggs is an honorary ARC ![]()
Just flew this tonight and got a very lucky win on vassel. Single Arc-170 that solo killed Fenn and pretty much took out Kavil over the course of the match. Proxy some HoTR stuff but whatever. 100 pt. total and a lot of fun!
