JJs Juggernaut vs PartyPotato (Player 1)

Objective: Contested Outpost

10-1 win 250 MoV (does it max at 200 for this tourney?)

250-0

A really fun game and quick game (1 hr for 5 turns) vs PartyPotato. This game really was all about the manuvering and I was able to pull ahead and use my activavations to keep out the MC80s front arc. Admonition was circling the station which was surrounded by asteroids, while Dodonna setup to flank. The MC80 came towards the station but turned away after realizing it didn't want to either land on obstacles or land in front of Admonition. Instead it went for the CR90 with a crazy speed 3 + engine techs 90 degree turn. The CR90 was able to dodge away, and began to nip away with TRC fire. The MC80 and the CR90 continued the dance for a few turns until the CR90 was back at the station with the MC80 about speed 5 away. Admonition was waiting, but risked hitting asteroids herself, she risked a speed 0 turn, taking long range fire from the MC80. The one turn without a nav command meant the MC80 had to either turn away from the fight again or take an asteroid to the face. It chose to engage, and the Dodonna crit removed the redirect token. The CR90 had done its work by opening a side without shields and it forced another TRC crit through pulling a projector misaligned to drop the 3 freshly repaired front shields. Admonition, sitting at speed 0 across the asteroid from the Mon Karren opened up its double arc onto the liberty. APT removed a brace with another injured crew, and the side arc finished the beast off.

Tycho and Han exchanged a few shots till I realized counter 2 and scatter against 2 blue 2 black meant Han wasn't winning that fight. Then they just flew around the board for fun, though Tycho did take a potshot at the CR90. A good game to PartyPotato, though some rough Dodonna crits sealed that game. Thanks for showing me how to make an MC80 Liberty dance!

I'm pretty sure that locks it up for you JJ. Congrats!

Miferr vs. Moodswing playing now! SURPRISE!

Miferr vs. Moodswing, 210 vs 41 to Miferr

Miferr had first player and chose my contested outpost. Great game, I socked it to his VSD at least twice with 5 dice from salvation, but demo was too much. Good game.

This has been a fun tournament; thanks for setting it up ianediger! I like the 200-point games; now I'd like to try them where I'm not as limited in fleet building! :)

Concur! The fleet limitation was fun, but the point cap made Demo and his ilk even stronger than normal.

Yup. A 200 point tourney would be a great intro to a lot of folks. I also think about how easy it would be to pull off. Less time and less space.

I would like some limitation, not just anything goes. Maybe a random commander, random faction, etc?

How about simply no titles? Fixes the Demo problem as well as much of other effects that tend to break things a bit more than they should at lower points.

Random Commander would be good if they didn't count against your point totals. Getting stuck with a 38pt Tarkin or Ackbar for maybe 2 ships would pretty sufficiently handicap you out the gate.

Yeah I really actually like the "no titles" idea. That actually would be fun, even for a 400 point tourney.

But, but.....but I didn't have Demolisher...in fact I beat two of them :P

Emfrank72 defeats Dab Darklighter 64 to 34 with a MOV of 30. I don't remember if we are just doubling MOV to i either get a 6 to 5 or a 7 to 4 win.

It was a good game with a lot of maneuvering. Dab stayed out of my front arcs on both of my Neb Bs until the last turn where one got off a front shot. Not that it mattered. Salvation with spinal never got a shot that wasn't in the side arcs. Dab took out my B-wing and Keyan and then flew Dodonna off of the board so in a sense he did all the damage for both sides.

BrobaFett Vs Captain ICT just wrapped up.

Incredibly scrummy game as we both hard charged to the contested outpost. Dodonna's Pride parked on the station to start gathering tokens and weathered a storm of fire from 3 X-Wings with BCC and 2 CR90A's. A critical miss by Luke (double blanks) meant he lived long enough to trigger Dodonna's Pride on one CR90A sending it off the table and ram Bright Hope for a double kill. But then ICT's trailing 90' caught it from it's rear arc as it fled limping and sent it packing.

But ICT's trailing CR90A was hurtling toward the board edge, and Broba's Frigate had moved into position on the station and watched it sail right past, and off the edge of the board by a hair on the 5th turn.

ICT's 2 X-Wings and Luke claimed Dash Rendar turn 2 and a Scurgg in the last turn firing, and all three made it out heavily damaged by alive.

Final Score was 240 to 86 for a 155 mov with BrobaFett coming out on top.

Thanks to ICT for a great game with lots of close range action between fragile Rebel Corvettes!

Lord Preyer faced Admiral Maturin. Two VSDs traded remarkable hot dice (5 red hits at long range versus 13 short range dice of pain to give but two examples). Was a fun face off and thank you Maturin for your time!

The result:

Maturin: 78

Preyer: 126

Yes, a very fun game. I'm glad we both managed to get our first games in this tourney!

This was the first time I've encountered an expanded launchers + OE VSD, and I've learned my lesson - stay out of that front arc!!

We played my Most Wanted - which I realized we'd completely forgotten about! (Not that it would have mattered much)

Ginkapo and I just finished our game.

Final score was my 200 to his 78, for an MOV of 122 in Ransburger's favor.

It was Demo+Suppressor+Impetuous vs tanky carrier interdictor + bombers.

Objective was fleet ambush. Suppressor and Impetuous set up in the ambush zone and Demo set up on the right flank that Interdictor was aiming towards. Interdictor pushed obstacles in front of the small ships who mad to madly navigate around them. Impetous Ozzeled up to come around the left side of the super-dense obstacle field to catch a double arc before Interdictor eeked away. Demo ran up to catch Interdictor later while Suppressor ran interference for the other two.

Turn 2 saw a raider who had been damaged by the bombers hit a double-arced interdictor and then jump into the squadron blob to try to distract them for a bit. On the way in Impetuous used the Interdictor as a brake, taking off half of Interdictor's Motti-hull. At this point the Interdictor lazily swatted Impetous out of the sky with a single accuracy on the brace, then rolled 3 accuracies against suppressor, landing one hull damage. Vader rolls a blank, and then all 3 bombers proceed to roll hit/crit. Suppressor can only scatter so much versus squadrons, then things go south. Interdictor traded about 3 shields and a hull for Suppressor and Impetous. Not at all a bad trade.

The downside of that is that Interdictor's speed carried it into close range of Demo's front arc. After Demo finished its 2 attacks and an engine tech move, Interdictor was sitting at 5 hull and 2 irrelevant rear shields, and minus one redirect token.

Demo tossed a few dice, blowing up Interdictor, and then drifting lazily into the squadron ball. Demo was basically untouched and had all its tokens, so the fairly spread out squadrons didn't pack enough firepower to kill it in one turn.

It was a pretty good game.

I for one have really enjoyed the smaller games. Thanks to our TO for organizing this!

To the casual observer this might look like a double post, but there are 4 days between them.

Have the final results for this been posted somewhere and I just missed them? I thought round 3 ended on the 11th.

Lyr and I couldn't get our game in unfortunately. :(

Sorry, been hectic at work, I'll post them as soon as possible. Stay tuned!
