You can actually do it without the title, because the ship has an auxiliary firing arc, which lets you shoot out the back, but there's no reason not to take the title, because the title improves your front arc, and lets you shoot out the back even if you shoot out the front.

The title doesn't trigger shooting out the butt; the aux arc does

The title makes its front arc a better arc by default, something the Firespray doesnt have a rule for, and enables firing out of both arcs if you opt out of the bonus die for the front.

It does nothing for the aux arc on its own.
