I wonder if the finals would be more exciting if it was a best of three match. I love watching the finals matches and wish there were more of them.

The current format is already 12 rounds of X-Wing spread over 2 days for the players that make the final, which is pretty brutal on a normal person's mental + physical stamina. Increasing the number of rounds could get pretty disappointing from a spectating standpoint - very few people can play good X-Wing at that point of exhaustion 
I really wouldn't mind if they changed the format so the finals are played well after the rest of the games. Give the players time to rest, and make it a BO3.
Maybe a best 2 of 3 with them playing 3 different lists ala System Open Series.
I don't think that it would work well with the same list as each list has a strategy and limitations built into it. You can sometimes outperform your list and surprise your opponent, but I don't think there's much "surprise" with the same list multiple times. If there was a "sideboard" like in MTG, maybe.

True. That is a lot of x-wing in a short amount of time. Maybe a separate day for the final four with best of 3 would be pretty exciting.
