TURN BILBO... WHAT A FUNNY little WASTE OF TIME... TURN BILBO!!!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Most of the hate from this thread just goes to show how unscrupulous people are and that they have nothing better to do than comment so that they can make someone feel bad.

Example:

I hate this guy's threads!!!

I'm going to block him!!!

Let me just take some time to read everything then comment even though I don't care for his posts.

(Logic)

The way I see it, if someone's post irks you then you don't have to read it. There is no obligation to go read everything out there. Just leave it be and try not to ruin someone's day.

Nobody looks at that board...

Because people are trying to avoid the pointless drivel that's now being brought to these boards.

Sekac: Thank god PGS has gone...

Pgs is gone? Why? How? Whadidhedo???

I miss Tipperary.

He gave JBR7 a lot of s**t but he wasn't an awful dude. Bit of a jerk, but not a bad dude. Smart too.

YOU IZ A MESS...

Oh yeah, I forgot about Tipperary. WonderWaaagh! was the disappearing act that caught my attention.

WonderWaaagh was a JERK. Had the ruckus to continue to be a jerk in private messages too.

All of his humor was centered around bashing people and making fun of others. Oh and snide ego-thumping by making himself feel smarter and better than other people.

He is NOT missed by many of us.

I used to have to run that type of filthy gamer out of my shop... often.

Don't like the latest article (as in it's 'not for you')? Ignore it.

Don't like JBR7's (or instert user here) posts? Ignore them.

Problems solved.

So as we seem to be reminicing about negative posters who here remembers Ribban? Anyone? Now there was a guy who's sole purpose in life was to make the people of this forum as frustrated and upset as possible. As annoying as JBR7 posts have gotten they will never come close to what Ribban used to put out.

I miss Tipperary.

I don't know the exact details of the ban, but I'm pretty sure he was banned around the same time you and him were arguing about have ST ships in the game. Which makes sense because he loathed the idea of a ST and if I recall even said he'd buy a ticket to TFA just to burn it.

I remember Ribban. At one point he and Waaagh started turning nearly every thread into a personal flame war- that was a dark time for the forums. Worse than anything we've had to deal with lately.

When you guys start posting list and rule inquiries in THE RIGHT PLACE!!!

Exactly the kind of response I'd expect.

"As long as there is one person in thousands of posters that posts in the wrong forum sometimes, possibly out of ignorance, it's okay for me to ignore the rules even though I know better."

I miss Tipperary.

I had the monster blocked for months before it got it's self killed.

Dam these low end gamer-monsters.

He wasn't a bad person, he was just highly opinionated about making new movies.

I kinda always thought that JRB7 and PGS were the same person under two Troll Personas. PGS as the hyper-competitive guy out to troll the casuals and JRB7 as the hyper-casual guy out to troll the competitives. I actually much preferred PGS, as at least his posts were always about the game itself. And, as hard as it was to believe, he was actually an incredibly nice, polite, meticulous person to play in tournaments and I always looked forward to playing him (but he just hammed it up on the forums). JRB7 just posts utter random nonsense in the most childish grammar and spelling as possible in his trolling, often slapping in as many giant pictures as possible to kill people's data plans if they're browsing via mobile.

I can't say either was a worse presence for the forums, as in their own ways they both contributed substantially to degrading the quality of the discussions and souring the attitude of the community by being as obnoxious as possible. But at least PGS' noise was about the **** game.

And, as hard as it was to believe, he was actually an incredibly nice, polite, meticulous person to play in tournaments and I always looked forward to playing him (but he just hammed it up on the forums).

I find it very difficult to believe that someone who was quoted with this:

"ParaGoomba Slayer, on 09 Mar 2016 - 2:10 PM, said:

Victory is much sweeter when you defeat your opponent in spirit in addition to the actual game."

would be any sort of decent person to play against in person.

I haven't read all the interim pages but the funniest thing to me about all this is that while the initial post is a bit confusing and ...eccentric... It's actually on topic in terms of it's about the newest article. Of all of the JRB7 posts to spawn into a hate thread this one is a seemingly strange choice.

How has this gotten to page 6? I'm callin', guys - leave JBR7 to his fun.

I was surprised as anyone else, since I was well aware of his infamous reputation. I actually cringed a bit when I saw the pairings, but was quickly and pleasantly surprised to find he's actually an absolute delight to play against on the table. Courteous, careful, friendly, and professional. I'd much rather play against an opponent like PGS every round than some sloppy player who's bumping bases all over and knocking ships and obstacles about as they roll dice and who starts to whine and pout about every dice roll (which is a far more common kind of opponent, in my experience). After playing him a few times in tournaments, I've come to the conclusion that his online persona is just an act, either to intentionally troll or some misguided effort to prod discussion and persuasiveness.

Just like I'm sure JRB7's online persona here is largely an act. I can't imagine he goes about his social circles and work circles perpetually shouting in stammered toddler syntax about childish and barely tangentially related topics as part of an everyday discussion about where everyone should go for lunch. I mean, could you see JRB7 sitting in a meeting with coworkers shouting "HELL YEA WORK-BRAHS, WE SHOULD ORD-AH DA CHINESE FOOD CUZ ITS YUM-YUM IN MY TUM-TUM, GLORY TO MSG!!!" I'm sure he acts like a god-damned person in real life, and that his persona here is an act to be obnoxious and annoying because he's simply out to troll.

JBR7 is kinds like the guy that ate too much acid and rides a cow around a field now. He may sometimes shout incoherently and is mostly indecipherable at best, but he's not hurting anyone and he's certainly a change of pace compared to the endless 'torp scout, palp aces, etc.' threads. Speaking of palp ace threads, I knew I hadn't seen one in a while. Of course it's because PGS was banned, how else? lol. His vitriol will not be missed.

trolls everywhere

He was...

Opinionated. To say the very least. I never agreed with him on PT/ST but the dude did have some reasonable contributions to our overall knowledge database and his prequel stuff was starting to look REALLY good.

trolls everywhere

If it really was a persona of his, I just don't understand why he would do that. I can see how being more opinionated and "loud" on the forums would be used to bring attention to the issues he found with the game. But the way he treated people and acted turned so many against him rather than listen to what he had to say.

I guess it's all water under the bridge now with him gone. I had already moved beyond hating him to pitying him anyways, regardless whether it was a persona or not.

Okay, JBR7 has finally descended to PGS's level of pointless "contributors". Hopefully one day he'll do something stupid enough to get banned, but until then, it's a tight race for who's most deserving of the ignore list.

That is the kind of competition in which everyone can be a winner. ;-)

Who remembers that 3 or so days when that old timer (pretty sure he called himself an older gentlemen, not sure how else to distinguish him) came on here and posted page long posts about how awful FFG was, and he made multiple threads about it? That was a weird, weird moment in forum history. He came and he went pretty quick though.

Fair enough. After how hard I went after JBR7 in this thread, I wouldn't blame you if you ignored me. I'd edit my posts to walk it back a bit, but I said what I said and I'm not gonna pretend I didn't. I got my first warning point and it was well-deserved.

It just frustrates me to no end this arbitrary schism between casual and competitive. Sometimes it puts me on edge, and sometimes it pushes me right over it.

Can't we all just enjoy enjoying this game, rather than criticize the method of people's enjoyment?

I'm a casual and I don't like jbr7 it's nothing to with that.
