Who are the "go-to's" for each faction right now?

By cybercat07, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm curious as to who is using what for each faction at this point in time. I'm a little behind on the waves but I do know some people are (like me) trying to competitively play with the newer ships without being so familiar with them.

So who seems to be fielded the most for each faction?

Scum: Jumpmaster 5000, YV-666 Freighter, sometimes a hwk-290, people are experimenting with the new wave as well so protectorate (fang) fighter and Lancer class pursuit craft.

Empire: Soontir Fel, The Inquisitor, Palpatine (lambda), Tie Defenders (more x7 than /d), Tie Fighter Swarms, experiments with the new special forces tie.

Rebels: Wes Janson, Biggs Darklighter, Corran Horn, Jake Farrel, Dash Rendar, Miranda Doni, experiments with Arcs.

Think those are the most used currently.

For TIE/SF beware of the baffle-rage quickdraw, hit MUCH harder than a 2 dice ship should.

Selection is influenced by "the fickle scale" ie "I don't care how amazing it is, I roll like I have 0 agi"

Local meta is very competitive and these ships have earned my respect on either side of the table

Rebels:

ARCs (r2d2 norra or r3a2 braylen/thane)

Vcx-100 (autoblaster + tv's + goodies)

Sabine crew bomber Kwings

Empire:

X7 defenders

(Special shout out to personal favorite "deathfire" with conners and homing because everyone runs Palp shuttle and that's boring)

Scum:

Obvious torpscout

Party bus YV (Dengar, 4lom; zuckuss)

Sabine shadowcaster (dengar, double stims; gyrothinger)

As of gencon, these have been the most common ships (the ARCs are my fault, though) I have seen

Good posts by everyone so far. I still see a lot of Poe and I think that with HotR he will be even more popular. I don't play against top level players though so your experience may be different.

Super-Dash is still reasonably competitive, especially with Kanan crew to open up that dial.

For the Empire, Omega Leader is a nice pocket-Ace if you want to fill out a list and can't afford one of the big boys.
