Burnout SLAM and the YV 666

Evening Ladies and Gents,

The biggest problems with the YV 666 is it's inability to scratch it's back, you get a little guy behind and you are alone, it's pretty much good night nurse for the YV. Is the Burnout SLAM a way to get out of this situation or is the 3 Hards just too big and the tail gater you have picked up will reacquire your rear again in no time flat?

If you're not using your illicit slot for anything else, it's not a bad option. If you want to SLAM you can assume it's because you don't have a shot anyway.

Personally, I'd rather take and Engine Upgrade & Daredevil, though.

I like to run YV and think the burnout slam is a good option on the generics, although it does compete with other potentially more effective illicit upgrades (feedback/bmst). Nicest things about it is that it opens up chips so you can comfortably run a missile hammer, and still have the optional blast out of dodge option at some point later in the game.

Just run two YV-666s. There's plenty of scary crew for it and you'll have them covering each others' blind spots.

So let me get this straight; you're advocating adding a 30+ point to the lost over purchasing a one point illicit upgrade?

I'd say Feedback Array is a better way of guarding your back..

Depends what it is chasing you. TIE Interceptor, maybe. IG88-B or Dash Rendar, not so much.

Damps is the best way to go.

I'm addressing the OP's quandary of mitigating the risks posed by the YV-666's blind-spot.

To answer your question: Yes. Seeing as cost and the rest of this hypothetical list aren't addressed, I think two YV-666s fixes the problem. Not to mention, SLAM would require the Slaver to not attack for a turn, which is just as ****y as a blind-spot.

Damps is the best way to go.

This is the answer you wanted to see if we're focusing on cost.

I'd say slam drive isn't TERRIBLE. Just make sure you're doing a turn 3 off of a turn 3. Honestly if your 666 is all that's left you're probably in trouble anyway.

Burnout Slam is amazing into a YV, but unfortunately it doesn't fit into the most competitve Hound's Tooth build: Dengar-Zuckuss-4Lom.

The Slam is an action, and now the YV is a stress carrier :(

BUT in other comp, sure, is amazing!
