Ele's Shipyard

By Ele, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

First attempt at painting in many, many years. I wanted to keep it fairly accurate to the movies, but didn't like the stock paint job.

Very nice! I overall like the stock, but I don't always like how some panels are colored differently. I like how yours is uniform.

Nice work! It is a bit darker than the ISD's from the films, but so are mine as I imagine them to be older and more worn.

The edging is really nice! I think this looks perfectly understated!

Thanks! Yeah, it is perhaps a little dark, but making it much whiter may kill the detail?

Really not sure about this one. I've been fighting with her for a few days.

I like the sandy color, but my eye was immediately drawn to the hangers and the yellow glow that doesn't match the black lifeless interior of the hanger... I mean, the model isn't doing you any favors with them because I have always thought those hangers look like manufacturing mistakes not something intentionally put on there to represent a hanger.

Ele, the MC80 looks awesome. Much cleaner than my yellow MC80. I need to post pics of my ships. :|

Good feedback - yeah, I've had problems with it. I painted the inside of it white, but it's just too dark in natural light to make any impact. Short of an actual light inside I'm not sure what to do with it!

This is the source i was going off for the yellow lights, though obviously much more exaggerated. Really hard to get those pin-prick lights on in a way that's still visible at a reasonable distance.
