This was the ship I flew in a list and it absolutely devastated the enemy.

Was generally taking a target lock with my action or boosting, without having focus tokens converting those useless focuses into evades to juke with increased my fire power substantially.

In fact I think I have found my new favorite ship / build.

That being said with juke I don't think you even need the com relay to be happy with this, my guess is any x-wing that can take juke is going to be strong with this droid.

I love juke, just won the summer kit tournament with an imperial 4x juke list and am very happy to have it usable with another faction.

I ran Ello last week. An absolute joy to fly.

preposterous! did you not hear!?!? the internet says it sucks!

it looks like a fun trick and I think you have found the best use for this droid

but the droid still sucks :P

if only you could fly Palob with this combo :(

I don't know why but I have some favourites and Ello is definitely one of them (as is Keyan Farlander with Kyle Katarn crew). I'm definitely keen to give this combo a run.

Also, good on you for ignoring the wisdom of the internet folk and playing with good 'ol R3.

Thanks for the share.

I dunno about it sucking, I put one of these on Shara Bey, and used her to feed tl's to other ships firing ordnance.

Worked out pretty well, the specific list still needs a couple of tweaks before I'm completely happy with it, but being able to put the focus towards defense when not planning to modify dice really helped her survivability.

Oh, and she also ran VI, so she was pretty high up the shooting order.

Juke Vessery comes in at 36 points with the x7 title and TIE Mk. II. For one point less he gets a free Evade and free TL, triple your action economy.

Oh, and one more agility at all times, too. Did I mention he gets most of his dial green as well? That's just how badly costed R3 Juke Asty is.

Asty is at PS 9. That's top tier PS territory.

Asty can discard crits.

Asty gets Trolls, a big improvement over the K.

Asty will soon be getting black one, which will make him immune to Vess shenanigans, and non-deadeye ordnance, for 1 pt.

Ves is dependent on others for his free TL, and that's a weakness.

Vess, maximally, gets 3 'actions'. Asty, maximally, gets two. That's not 'triple'.

Vess doesn't get 'most of his dial green' - but he can pay to upgrade his banks to green, true enough.

Vess is also in the very top tier of competitiveness right now. One of the top 5 pilots in the game, possibly. Using him as a baseline to dismiss other people's innovative builds is a bit harsh.

Only ps7 if you're using juke. But can boost naturally

The Asty as built in the OP is at PS 7 due to Juke.

That makes no sense...

How dare you fly T-70's with so much joy in your heart!!!

It seems players that favor Imperial builds really don't like Rebels or new rebel combos. Or old Rebel combos. The mentality of "if it ain't an arc dodging Imperial ace it ain't crap" has been spewed on these threads for a long time and it just dawned on me why. Sour Grapes. I'm not sure of World's 2012, but the last three World's have been won by REBELS builds!

The More You Know <VBG>

I've been one of the naysayers, but I want to believe. I'll have to try it out on a couple of the high PS T-70s.

And trust me, I'm a Rebel/Scum player. I love crazy combos. R3 isn't just inefficient, it's also just plain boring to me. The "combo" of Juke/R3 is the only thing that's sparked my interest, and I don't see any practical difference between a potential 3 hits vs a potential 2 hits plus Juke (assuming they don't have a focus token). It doesn't free up my build to do other things, it's just swapping actions around. Again, I haven't tried it out yet, so feel free to disagree.

while the undue worship of soontir is certainly a thing, none of that makes r3 a card worth putting on the table or changes how utterly horridly conditional it is for the very minor benefit it sometimes might give you

I'd like to see PH win World's 2016 with an R3 in his squad.

Seems like it could be a decent combo, but basically, you spend a focus to change and evade to a focus. Sure it's a nice backup, and it shows potential for the R3 (who would've known :D ), but I have to say goodbye to both of my astromech and EPT slots. Perhaps if something else could be added to make it just a little bit more powerful. Hopefully we'll find the R3's potential somewhere! :)

To ne, R3 is just a way to give evade tokens to ships that doesn't have it.

At the cost of 1 eye result. I like it.

Thats because the general wisdom of this site is garbage, bunch of people who have no idea how to build lists spouting crap that only lists they googled are any good. "I never tried it because it sucks" should be the Moto of this site.

Anyways, I loved this combo and it's a strong droid for 2 points, even if it works only once and you use the evade on defense you just spent 2 points for 1 hit point. Don't argue R2D2 is better bla bla bla, he was being used on another ship and he would have done far worse on ello as I was talon rolling like mad and the jukes were money.

It's a crazy good droid defensively, allows an open dial even red manouvers while still providing a good defensive bonus, and offensive with juke.

Well that was a long way to say the droid is very strong, and I find this forum toxic sometimes.

I don't understand why people feel the need to be so contrary about silly stuff like this. R3 isn't good, but you can mess around and have fun with it. Lt. Lorrir is awful, but I have fun with him. I just don't see the need to get so sanctimonious about it.

You felt the need to flat out state it isn't good. Same reason I state it is good, you know sharing of opinions. You are wrong, but you are allowed to be.

I'm glad you found a build you like with R3! I have a soft spot for him and don't think he's as terrible as the internet says. I think your build is really cool! Have fun with it and don't worry what people say!
