TIE/SF thoughts.

By Ronu, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So looking at the SF's TIE I just see it begging for Accuracy Corrector.

I know the TIE Advanced With Them is a thing with 4. About the best I can see you Could do something like this:

Quickdraw" — TIE/sf Fighter 29

Adaptability 0

Accuracy Corrector 3

Sensor Cluster 2

Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1

Special Ops Training 0

Ship Total: 35

2x - Omega Specialist — TIE/sf Fighter 25

Wired 1

Accuracy Corrector 3

Sensor Cluster 2

Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1

Special Ops Training 0

Ship Total: 32

Trust me, don't

No dice is awesome until you realize you can't do **** with only two hit results

An evade token LITERALLY halves your damage output. Add one naked evade (the apparent average on 3 dice, though I personally wouldn't know...) And that's it no damage for you

I've flown em on tie advance which get them for FREE and they still underwhelmed me horribly

FCS is your friend. Love it; cherish it

Also backdraft if you have any serious intention of using the aux arc v anything with more than 3 agi

For the tie sf I think the accuracy corrected isn't bad for them since it is more of a safety net for damage on 3 dice with title so you can focus with your action or do some sloop and keep some kind of attack mod it would be better paired off with cracks hot or another ept that helps the damage stick better over wired as for quickdraw rage/baffle or PTL would be way better than adapter and accuracy correcter

Faced a triple sf list with vessery Ryad and inquisitor I lost a single shield on the initial pass then once behind them laughed off the two dice attacks.

Game barely lasted 20 minutes.

An excellent place to start with any SF (excluding quickdraw) is:

FCS

Out Maneuver

In that order. Out maneuver is really useful when you have 2 arcs that both make it work (emulates tailgunner for the sf). Fcs is where it's at though. Soon enough pattern annalyzer will exsist and that'll be an awesome sf tool as well.

With Pattern Analyser you should be able to focus + target lock every turn when you're not barrel rolling and that'll be pretty awesome.

I wouldn't recommend running a list of only SFs though. The named pilots are good, but I feel like they need backup to perform well. Perhaps a mini swarm?

From my experience so far, defenders love SFs. Vessery in particular, a wingman with fcs? Sign Vess up. I've really enjoyed this:

Vessery (35)

-juke

-x7

Quickdraw (31)

-rage

-baffle

-title

Backdraft (34)

-outmaneuever

-title

-fcs

-sensor cluster

You could replace backdraft with another defender, but I'm loving the shiny new toys right now. Man they're vicious.
