Fighter Coordinatoon and Station interaction

It's not unnecesary neither refers to a mechanic that exist for now, so there's no way we could have thought if it would be allowed or not by FCT.
He refferred to a mechaninc that would ignore engagement. For now there is none, but who says that in the future it won't be one?
For now the only thing that exist are upgrades or squadron abilities that lets you move or attack a ship even if you are engaged, but that doesn't mean that the engagement is ignored. Those are two different things that I think some are mixing here

Second, and far more inportantly, all that stuff I said was unnecessary, is. If nothing in the game creates the situation you are qualifying, you don't need to qualify. The fact that someday they may make an upgrade that does X, where X is pretty much anything you can imagine, doesn't need a qualifer. Its implied that they can always make a new upgrade that changes stuff. He didn't for example, say "unless Mauler has a squadron specific upgrade that gives him Ludicrous Speed unless he is in a Traptor Beam, which of course assumes he hasn't given them the Raspberry Jam". Because intended silliness aside with regards to hypothetical future upgrades, why the frak would you? Its a stupid way to communicate.
Again, for the record, I think the correct ruling is still engagement by any squadron eliminates the ability to use FCT. But that email needs to be clarified.
Edited by MadaghmireIf it were less Hypothetical meandering and more foreshadowing , and small-timeline foreshadowing (such as Wave 5, or Correllian Conflict), does that change the Attitude any? Because that would make the answer somewhat timely to avoiding it in the future.......
Of course, if such a Mechanic is a Wave 7 thing... Totally with you...
But it makes me wonder that such a clarification is both measured and deliberate .
I mean, again, Hypothetically... The Conflict Article of Spoilers drop tomorrow, and we see:
181st Squadron - 15pts
The 181st Squadron ignore the rules for Engagement
Counter 2
Swarm
It would mean they wouldn't count for Friendly Swarms, either.... But they could get the Swarm Reroll themselves... And could Fly away... And could still shoot any squad at Distance 1 of them, just the same as if they were hidden on Asteroids... And could be appropriately pointed for a Tycho-Like ability, no Defense Tokens, and less hull.......

But yes, if its something they are literally right about to share, sure. That does change things. If not though, my point stands.
Edited by MadaghmireOh Dras. We both know there wont be an article tomorrow.

I, in no way, disagree with any of these assertions.
It's just the way he wrote it greenie. By letter its fine. You can't move with FCT if engaged. But why add the part about ignoring engagment, when there is currently no effect in the game that eliminates the engaged state, unless you are referring to things lime heavy or tycho? I just think we need him to clarify.

Because it underlines that there is CURRENTLY NO WAY TO IGNORE ENGAGEMENT. But there COULD BE, in the future.
See, you made me go capital. It's all your fault.
There is an existing ability that nulls engagement. If squads are obstructed, they aren't engaged, but can still shoot each other. PG6 under Engagement.
Thankfully Mauler's ability only works on engaged squads..
