Beginner scenario escape from Mos Shuuta question

Hello, just a quick question about the beginner scenario.

How players are supposed to know they need to go to the spaceport control center to unlock the docking clamps?? and why the YT-1300 is locked via docking clamps in the first place? Trex paid the docking fee, his ship is not severly damaged etc..

I can't find any reasons about those docking clamps..

Docking clamps are a safety feature, to prevent theft. Trex has the codes, and he could take off any time he wanted. The only other place to get them is from the control center. I assume this is a pretty common feature for most normal spaceports, and most people would know about it.

I just gave my players the information from a NPC they were talking to, even though they didnĀ“t ask about it. As far as I see it these encounters were designed to use certain skills and try stuff out. The story is... lacking. But with a little twinking it works fine.

Ok that's not a standard procedure then... I just need to find a reason why they locked down the freighter. Maybe Trex didn't pay anything yet, like docking fee, daily usage of external power source, resupply of food etc..

I don't have my book but I'm pretty sure, the campaign book says Vorn gives the players the information about the docking clamps when they buy the part they need to fix the Krayt Fang. If the players steal it from him, then it is probably his droid that gives them the information.

As for the docking clamps, remember all these people work for Teemo the Hutt. He probably doesn't want Trex taking off until he has approved his next assignment and *spoilers* wants to get those wookie pelts ;)
