How would you Knight level build an ...?

.. attractive female adult holovid star who's primary combat ability is grappling like the female bond villain Xenia Onatopp ? Any EotE or AoR spec or gear is fair game, except the character is NOT force sensitive.

by" grappling like the female bond villain Xenia Onatopp" I mean killing people by squeezing them with her legs

Brawn 3 or possibly 4, with a very high Brawl skill. Maybe a rank or two of the Feral Strength talent and/or maybe Lethal Blows.

Certainly, she should have a rank or three of Adversary, because of who she is and how well she was able to fight Bond.

That covers the hand-to-hand combat.

Beyond that, what else do you think are her primary features as a character?

Are you trying to build her as an NPC, or as a PC?

Trying to build as a PC. I was kind of thinking performer... but it was lacking the ability to brawl. I was thinking infiltrator has deception which could be used for "acting" talents useful for brawling but no brawl skill... I was kind of thinking doctor because of "acting skills" pressure point and she would have plenty of experience "playing doctor" and then could got to performer at in career cost, at the moment i'm kind of thinking quartermaster, again no brawl but does get skills for an "acting career" grit and toughness and 2 ranks of sound investments for royalties from previous holovids but really lacking in the brawl skill, assassin is a maybe for combat skills but doesn't have anything to help with acting.

I would go with Performer, but also pick up Gadgeteer for the Brawl. Just shoot down the right side of the tree and up the brawl skill and she would be particularly nasty.

What do you think about species?

Its a tough proposition to fulfil with only a single Specialisation, the combination of Charming Brawler just doesn't exist properly yet.

Performer/Recruit is a good option, you get all the nice social skills, the dodging skills of Performer, then get Brawl and a heap of other useful talents from Recruit.

Propagandist/Recruit is nice choice too.

Infiltrator is great, its a fantastic close quarters combatant.

Trailblazer/Aggressor is a devastating Brawl character, with 2 ranks of Disorient and 4 of Prey on the Weak, and you don't have to have a force rating to get into Aggressor, but this misses out on the charming side of things

But really the best Brawler is Marauder, and the best Charmer is Charmer, so combine the two. A high Brawn and Presence is important, Cunning of 3 would be nice too. Take Kill With Kindness down to Don't Shoot in the Charmer tree, then go to town on the Marauder tree. Your not going to get every relevant talent for Knight Level, but it will be a long way towards your goal.

So here is my interpretation, Xenia Onya , I didn't count up the equipment credit cost, it was mostly for thematic purpose. A droid or something would fit, so would some illicit drugs.

Unfortunately the one talent you really want is currently only in the Warden tree; "Grapple" which mimics holding onto your opponent very well. Perhaps that will appear in the Spy or Bounty Hunter book in a specialisation more in line with your character wishes.

I would cross marauder with Performer; one provides the rough grunt and stamina to keep up all night, the other? Allows one to smash their faces in really hard. Use advantages and such to narrate getting their oppoment in compromising positions (as in being choked to death, arms broken e.c.t. NO GIGGLING BACK THERE!)

Otherwise Infiltrator is also a fairly good shout. Generally the greatest difficulty as a brawling character is breaching high soak, so shock gloves and even possibly dipping into doctor at a later stage to pick up pressure point might be up your street; Though please, for the love of god don't choke out a rancor, the internet will rule 34 it before his head hits the ground.

The idea of Charmer and Maraulder gives me the chuckles. But it works really well. Actually kind of inspires me for my next character, a Trandosian who is a exhibitionist for cash, though of course that rarely pays the bill so he often works as a bodyguard. XD

Wait until they release official stats for Zeltrons .

Wait until they release official stats for Zeltrons .

Tramp, I had already thought of Trixie Troubelle (sp?), zeltron was my go to species for the character but it's not official, the closest they have is Falleen in "Fly Casual" (1 Brawn, 3 Presence, 2's for all others, 1 free rank in charm, pheremones (sp?), and 90 xp) I'm kind of hoping for a brawn 2 (or 3), presence 3, willpower 1, 2's for everything else (could live with a 1 in intellect) species but I'm not finding anything (it'd take me a long time to look through all the books, anyone know of something of the top of their heads?)

  • Beguiling Pheromones - Once per check as an incidental, may suffer 2 strain to upgrade ability of Charm, Deception, or Negotiation check against living, sentient being within short range. No effect if wearing breath mask or having no respiratory system.

Human brawn 4, presence 3, Marauder (or enhance using warden) with charm and ranged heavy taken as non career skills

taking a falleen swapping brawn (gain +1 starting wounds) and willpower (lose one starting strain) seems like a decent/balacned zeltron that I'd expect most GMs to allow.

You could always use the version of Zeltrons from this until official stats come out.

Grans (A-CRB, Far Horizons) have a 1 in Cunning, a 3 in Presence, and 2s in everything else. They can also have a free rank of Charm. So it might fit except that would be one weird-looking adult holovid star! But she could have a following of her own species or kinky folks from others.

Or Wookiees (E-CRB) are another unusual but potentially viable choice. They are very close to what you want as far as stats, with a 3 in Brawn, 1 in Willpower, and 2s in other things. They also get a free rank of Brawl for thigh-crushing ability, and when injured she'll do even more damage from Wookiee Rage. Another one with "kinky" fans.

Similarly, a Trandoshan (also E-CRB) might work, stats like a Wookiee but with Agility as the stat with a 1 in it. She would get a +1 damage and Crit 3 rating with her thighs if she also used her claws somehow (maybe her foot claws).

You can have an Aqualish (Dangerous Covenants), 3 in Brawn, 1 in Intellect, all others 2, and free rank of Brawl. She can breathe underwater so her holovids may be interesting.

A more humanoid option would be a Nautolan (F-CRB). They have the same stats as a Wookiee (3 in Brawn, 1 in Willpower, all others 2) and can breathe underwater for interesting holovids. They also start with a rank in Athletics, which can play into the holovids as well.

Gungans (Nexus of Power) may be another option. Same species abilities as Nautolans (Athletics, breathe underwater) and have a 3 in Presence, 1 in Intellect, and all other stats at 2. I don't want to imagine a Gungan adult film star though.

None of the species I can find in any of my books match what you're looking for stat-wise. If it was me, though, I'd go with a Nautolan, the stats are pretty close and both species abilities can come into play with the holovids. And they are plausible in that role in my opinion...

Except they have weak and scrawny legs...

OK I decided to go with falleen stats, spending the 90 starting xp to increase brawn to 3 and presence to 4, and calling her a zeltron that increased her willpower to a 2. Has 2 obligations at 10 each, adrenaline rush and bad reputation (i'm thinking of going with notoriety instead of bad reputation), got an extra 10 xp.

Starting spec is performer, performer talents purchased is the least expensive path to biggest fan, also got the 5xp distracting behavior. Spec provided skills are deception and melee. Career provided skills are charm deception, negotiation and streetwise (got a free rank in charm from species and can'take raise above 2 ranks at character creation). Bought gadgeteer as a second spec and took the toughened talent so she has 15 wounds. Purchased 3 ranks in brawl, 1 rank in ranged light (in career cost thanks to gadgeteer). And that spends all of the knight level xp (+10xp from obligation). Gear... a pair of high heeled stylish shock boots :) , a surveyors bag (closest thing in the game to a purse), utility belt (stylish of course), energy buckler from keeping the peace, looks like a bracelet until it turns on and she gains defensive 1 and deflection 1 (this is the reason for putting the specialization rank in melee instead of coordination), i'm unclear whether the defensive 1 is additive with defensive 1 from a vamblade that would be worn on her right arm if it stacks, massively tricked out reinforced clothing (+1 soak, increase melee and ranged defense, 1 extra hard point spent on getting custom fit attachment with both mods, special embellishment charm, and integral attachment used to get superior armor customization) getting it for materials cost because she used biggest fan on the npc armor crafter and had sex with him in exchange for the at cost deal (he also got to grope her repeatedly while "taking her measurements")... hey she's a zeltron adult holovid star... where did you think this was going? a military hold out blaster, 1 extra reload, 4 stimpacks, and coming later and she still has well over 4000 of the knight level 9000 + normal 500 starting credits left (maybe even over 5000 if she didn't go with the 500 credit vamblade). This means her soak is 6, and when she turns on the energy buckler in coming ranged and melee attacks are facing 2 black dice on top of the normal difficulty (possibly 3 black on melee if the vamblade's defensive 1 will stack with that of the energy buckler). When she eventually goes down the gadgeteer tree she will apply tinkerer to her high heeled and very fashionable shock boots in order to apply superior to them (hey a 6,250 credit pair of boots is certainly in character for a holovid star :) ), get an extra point of soak from armor master, extra black dice on incoming attacks from improved armor master, and apply deadly accuracy to brawl to eventually get another plus 5 damage on brawl attacks (+6 counting the superior on her shock boots)
