Dengar and Bossk

By RogerWilco15, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Looking for some help on a Dengar and Bossk list. What I have so far is:

JumpMaster 5000: · Dengar (33)

Push The Limit (3)

Engine Upgrade (4)

K4 Security Droid (3)

· Punishing One (12)

Unhinged Astromech (1)

YV-666: · Bossk (35)

Adaptability (Increase) (0)

Engine Upgrade (4)

· 4-LOM (1)

K4 Security Droid (3)

Burnout SLAM (1)

100

It makes a fairly aggressive duo but I'm worried about survivability and a little lack of synergy on Bossk. Ideally I'd like Gonk on Bossk but I've yet to make anything work. Any feedback is appreciated!

I really like Outlaw Tech with K4 security droid on Bossk. That ship is so slow to turn around, but being able to shift that arc in a tight 90 degree turn and still modify shots is awesome.

Bossk and Dengar can be a really powerful duo. You cant really worry about survivability, especially with the YV, you got to expect it to burn fast. That just means you got to make your shots count. In my experience flying these two together, people usually focus on Bossk first, which is fine for me because Dengar can do some work in the ate game. Here's what I usually run, its quite different than yours in terms of upgrades and tactics, but I've been pretty successful with it.

Dengar — JumpMaster 5000 33

Lone Wolf 2

Recon Specialist 3

R5-P8 3

Punishing One 12

Ship Total: 53

Bossk — YV-666 35

Wired 1

"Mangler" Cannon 4

4-LOM 1

Zuckuss 1

Boba Fett 1

Concussion Missiles 4

guidance chips 0

Ship Total: 47

Its pretty easy to fly, double focus with Dengar and potentially get some re rolls with with Lone Wolf. With Bossk, alpha strike with the missiles and use Zuckuss liberally to get the damage through with some potential re rolls with wired.

I was considering the lone wolf/recon Dengar as a "cheaper" option to the PTL one I've got. Does your Bossk suffer from any lack of maneuverability? Because not being able to back him up with a lone wolf Dengar is my worry with aces following Bossk around.

What you can do too is have Dengar cover Bossk's flank so that your enemy has to think twice about trying to get behind Bossk.

I found Rec spec went a long way on Dengar any time I used it.
