So I was thinking of making him a Heavy and Sharpshooter build. What equipment do you think he would have left over from the wars. Just wanted other's opinions.

Is Clone armor the same stats as Stormtrooper armor?

Laminate armor is what you're going for, which is Stormtrooper armor, or clone armor, or whatever else you need.

If you're doing Heavy, Forged in Battle has the big rotary gun you see in The Clone Wars. Otherwise, I'd just use the basic weapons from the Core Rulebook.

A lot of it will depend on what type of trooper he was. Higher-quality training and elite roles also got better equipment, so commanders, ARC troopers, commandos, etc. will all have gear tailored to their mission(s) which is substantially different than an average trooper.

At the very least, I'd expect him to have the tools for his job: weapons, armor, etc. Since he's stayed off the Empire's radar for so long, an Old Republic/Imperial-frequency holocommunicator would make sense... he's had to have had some method for disappearing and staying hidden for so long. He's likely had to scavenge a bit, so I'd expect his armor and weapon to be modded, even if it's just cosmetic differences.

Essentially, but you can also get creative to accommodate fine details. Scout armor for example can be heavy clothing.
