[Rebels Spoilers] Lego leaks possible new ship

By pcgamerpirate, in X-Wing

Yoda fighting lightsaber, flying in fighter... what an inept concept.

How else do you expect him to travel between planets on his own?

I know there's a lot of Force powers, but Interplanetary Teleportation isn't one I've heard of.

A shuttle or basic transport?

I'm wondering if the Phantom Mk. II is fortelling Ezra and/or Kanan's departure from the show, or at least their seperation from the Rest of the family.

I'm more interested in the tie fighter with an astromech in the back...

EDIT: wait, is that yoda in that thing?

That's Yoda's TIE Fighter from season 6 of clone wars

OMG, why did that put that hideous orange piece on the sides of the AT-AT?

OMG, why did that put that hideous orange piece on the sides of the AT-AT?

Because it's not an AT-AT. As you can see from the second set of minis that lacks it - this is a cargo-hauler variant. AT-ACT (armored cargo transport)

Partisans are rebels, period.

The problem with that is purely a matter of the product lines.

As I've pointed out, yonder, the Rebels are already in the lead for regular-game ships - 16 to 15 to 14.

Yet this new Phantom Mark II from the OP is apparently going to be a major ship this season (and going forward?) in 'Rebels', so...obviously we'll be getting that as a release at some point. Then more Y-Wings showing up in 'Rebels' with new pilots, Phoenix Squadron A-Wings still absent, etc...we've already got quite the overload of potential Rebel-faction ships, nevermind Star Wars Episode VIII coming out the following year (will we see the fabled T-85 finally?)

As to Scum? We're already seeing wave 10 dipping into the dregs of seconds-on-screen time for the Quadjumper, yet they are the faction furthest behind.

I dunno, feels to me pretty sure that SWX58 must be Scum, so...not the OP ship, and if the Partisan X-Wing, it's gotta be 'Scum'. Otherwise, the Rebels just run away too far ahead of everyone else, which retailers really ain't gonna like...

I'm loosely against Clone Wars-era ships making it into the game, but I would love to fly that Jed-TIE

Yoda and R2-D2 pilots? Yaaaaassss.

Think of how tiny and majestic the model would be.

A small hint: the sexiest ship in Star Wars.

The ARC-170 in a second release so soon?!?!

A shuttle or basic transport?

All the other Jedi get around in starfighters, why wouldn't Yoda?

Does being more spiritual mean you have to take a bus instead of a car?

Y-Wings are also showing up in the new Season of Rebels, so a Kit that was the new Y-Wing and Partisan X-Wing would work well.

Rebel Veterans wouldn't change the ship balance because it'd be a repaint box.

"Overload of potential Rebel ships" and you list... one new ship.

I mean, have you seen wave X?

Episode VIII comes out in a year, and I bet E8 related ships will be added as extra ships to the wave, just like E7 and R1. That's a lot of time to be filled with just Phantom Mk II.

And why is this balance so precious you think FFG will add a clearly Rebel ship to Scum to restore it? What does it change?

A shuttle or basic transport?

Seems wasteful.

All the other Jedi get around in starfighters, why wouldn't Yoda?

Does being more spiritual mean you have to take a bus instead of a car?

By the same logic, US generals must travel in F-35s, right? :P

What does General Yeager own these days?

Having seen the 1st episode of Rebel's 3rd Season, I would say...

Don't get too attached to the old phantom...

There's also the context of Yoda's usage of that ship as the mission was A. Traveling to hostile locations, and B. A solo journey.

It's fun knowing why it's The Phantom as I was at SWC2016 Rebel's panel but I shall not say just enjoy the reveal in the show :)

F-35 are not the equivalent of cars in our world the way starships are in the Star Wars universe.

This.

When Luke went to track down Yoda on Dagobah, did he park the X-wing with Rebels and take a freighter? No, he took his X-wing.

When Luke went to visit Yoda again, he didn't hitch a ride on the Falcon, he took an X-wing.

When Obi-Wan went chasing after the ghost of Sifo-Dyas and was hot on the trail of Jango Fett on Kamino, Obi-Wan took a Delta-7 Aethersprite, not a freighter.

When Obi-Wan tracked Grievous to Utapau, he didn't take a G-9 Rigger or a Theta-class shuttle, he took an Eta-2 Actis.

When Darth Vader went to kill the Separatist council, he didn't take an assault shuttle with a platoon of Clones, he took an Eta-2 Actis.

Jedi using starfighters as personal transport is pretty much the norm. In fact, I think that Rey taking the Falcon to whatever planet Luke has been hiding out on is really the first time in canon that a Jedi (or would-be Jedi) has traveled on their individual quest with something other than a starfighter and a companion other than one astromech.

This fact - which I just realized - now makes me dislike Jar-Jar Abrams even more.

Still, generally speaking, Sith take shuttles, Jedi fly starfighters.

That thing literally looks like a shuttle from startrek with a dorsal fin.

Which shuttle? There's a lot of shuttles that Starfleet uses.

The Defiant's shuttlepod was my first impression.

Good! I never liked that flying brick anyway.

Oh wait. That means the Rebels crew will get another toy ship and FFG will release yet another ship with Sabine as pilot. :(

Yeah, silly me of trying to compare SW with the real world, where very important people don't go driving alone to very dangerous places to "do" some quest.

Real life very important people usually aren't superhumans with magic powers.

All the other important people in Star Wars use shuttles.

By the same logic, US generals must travel in F-35s, right? :P

Seriously? You're mad that Rey lacks a starfighter?

Well who the hell else was supposed to have it, Finn?

Yeah, silly me of trying to compare SW with the real world, where very important people don't go driving alone to very dangerous places to "do" some quest.

As previously mentioned, in the real world we don't have warrior monk space wizards.

However, in the real world we do have Popes and Dalai Lamas. Who don't generally travel to dangerous places with either their retinue or by their lonesome. Still, I suspect that if the Pope or Dalai Lama decided that they needed to take a walk in the Wilderness, alone, that their retinues would not stop them.

And the Jedi have no retinues. No bodyguards. They don't even really have an army, their appointment to leading the Grand Army of the Republic being made by the Senate rather than on account of any other factor.

Even Poe used a starfighter in his search for Luke Skywalker - and in the real world, spies and SOF don't go bombing around in F-35s.

Seriously? You're mad that Rey lacks a starfighter?

Well who the hell else was supposed to have it, Finn?

Mad is a strong term. Annoyed would be more accurate. Not because somebody (other than Chewie) ought to have the Falcon so much as because the path to becoming a Jedi has typically been portrayed as a lonely one.

Now, instead of Rey going into the mountains alone to learn the way of the Force from a lone hermit, we have Rey and Chewie's Totally Awesome Roadtrip.

Don't forget that if she graffitis your ship it becomes a rebel ship that she can pilot as well. :/
