All this hate for the Scyk is just unwarranted.

Attanni Mindlink might not be the buff that brought Scyks to the top-tier level, but it's still a very significant buff.

Give them HLCs and run them with Manaroo.

Manaroo [K4 Security Droid, Proton Torps, Guidance, Attanni, R5P8]

It just crushes. You can blow a Contracted Scout off the board before it gets to fire. And a 4-hull, 3-agi, HLC Scyk with evade, focus, TL every turn is no joke. They used to explode when hit; but with Manaroo and Attanni, that 1-hull Scyk can now stack evade, focus, focus.

These are not the same Scyks as those that were released dead on arrival.

edit: I've won a tournament and placed 3rd twice with that build or something similar.

Just slap on a 3 point title that gives them an extra attack die and will solve everything with this useless p.o.s. They'll still die like chumps but they might kill something on the first pass.

Kinda like TIE Fighters...

TBH, I like the Scyk, it generally pulls it weight in games for me. But maybe it's because I play it differently, Normally run it low cost with just a Ion Cannon. Keep it out at range 3 where it's getting the most of it's 3 Agility. But then again I normally run it with a very suppression heavy force, so a lot of Stress etc being handed round. In that situation they don't tend to die particularly easily. As the enemy have bigger fish to fry and they have a hard time maneuvering to hit them. Saying that I'm liking the sound of the Mindlink. Not sure I would put the extra hull on them.

Scyk/fang fighter with matching (but reversed) paint schemes to make facing hard to see at a glance could be hilarious.

So true. I took Serissu and 3 TPV's with Mindlink and Manglers to the Mt. View Regional this year. I had never flown M3A's prior to that day. I went 3-2-1 for the tournament and came in 34th out of 96th. Even the two losses were fun games.

Well sure... like in the first month the little mutt was out. I got eight on my first and only order and made them work fine... lol. This is what we do at home and this is why we rarely have a complaint.

We just fix the little issues FFG makes from time to time... old-school War gaming and such.
