I have yet another Precision Strike question. Can the owner of a ship with damage cards on it mix those cards at any time? Or, are the cards placed on the table/side-board/ship-card in a specific order and must remain in that order (thus making it much easier to pick nasty crits)?

Also, lets say I have APTs and get a crit effect. Then lets say that crit does something and then flips. Can I then give up a die to flip that card over again in this same attack?

With Precision Strike, you flip over a Random Damage Card by spending a Hit.

So, to continue and Clarify...

You don't expressly get to sit there and just idly shuffle the cards on the table about for the hell of it... But when someone spends a hit to trigger the card-flip over of Precision Strike, then they must be randomised someway ... There is to be no "targeting" of cards, because that expressly forbids randomness...

In effect, you don't get to randomise them at just any time. But they should be randomised sometime between your enemy spending the Hit Symbol, and which card to be flipped is determined.

I must be blind. It says RANDOM right on the card ... sigh.

How about question #2?

You have to spend the die before APT hits. Spending the die happens during the Modify Dice step, which comes before the critical is resolved.

And also, you are completely correct.

Spend is defined as a Modify Dice effect.

Ergo, if you have one Black Die, and you have rolled HIT/CRIT... Then you have two Options:

You may Spend the Die in the Modify Dice stage, to flip a Face-Down Card Face up... The enemy can do nothing about it.

OR, y ou can hold onto it, go through the Spend Defense Tokens Stage, and then Deal a Face-Up Critical Card, followed by whatever damage is allowed.

Even if you have a Dice that is HIT/CRIT, if you are spending the HIT, then the WHOLE DIE is spent.
