You could, but I'd say the extra 3 points for R2D2 are way better if you can get to late game. You've got 1 and 2 speed banks and straights green along with a rear arc. I don't think you'd gain a lot from just adding the two turn as a possible stress clearing move, but give it a try.
the value r2-d2 generates on Norra is so mind-blowing in scale that you just can't use anything else
have yet to regenerate less than 5 shields a game unless it's such a one-sided stomp that Biggs just didn't get to die
aux arc basically eliminates the need for green turns as well

Seriously though, he did a marvelous job of hyping me up for that ship. I love the idea of stress Braylen and Tailgunning Norra. Small bases seem so much better than larges for rear aux arcs. Another thing I am incredibly hyped for is M9-G8 on Thane with Weapons Engineer. Thats some sick flexibility right there!

No use in having a TL if you don't have an enemy ship in arc. Vectored Thrusters makes it so that you almost always do.
A little help needed here.
Only got 1 ARC and looking for some nasty build for the playtesting in upcoming week,
I've already accepted the need for Biggs, and don't have the Rebel Transport pack, so no Stressbot.
So, the current "base" is: Nora [PTL, R2-D2, VT, TG, title] at 40pts, Biggs [R5*, IA] at 26 pts. 66 Points total.
And this brings me to my question - what would you advise for the remaining 34 pts?
Here are some options I've been thinking of:
- 2x Chardaan'd Prototype A with AT, for blocking, since no other form of control. Poor red dice, though.
- CheaPoe [VI, BB-8, IA], to have some more concentrated fire and ok survivability.
- Wedge [Predator?, BB-8?, IA], since I'm already bringing in Biggs, so his glass arse hopefully isn't going to fall apart turn 3.
Don't have an E-wing (wouldn't afford the points anyway, lol), Z-95s or Rebel Transport X-wing pilots.
All suggestions or opinions on above picks are welcome.
*Caveat on R5: I really don't know why people on these boards usually seem to prefer R4-D6 as their choice of 1-point Astro for Biggs.
Getting 3 or more uncancelled vanilla hits (no crits) feels to me just about as likely as getting a Ship crit of some sort. And R5 will flip it for free, no Stress induced.
Maybe I'm biased by the fact that I have already had Biggs live a turn longer twice, thanks to flipping Direct Hit on one occasion and Major Hull Breach on another, heh.

I've been testing the 'ARC Angel' Norra (Title, R2-D2, Tail Gunner, PTL, EU) and I really, really like her. I'm not sure if she needs EU or if Vectored Thrusters might be better (as well as the Initiative bump my list would get.)
I've been running her with my Down 'n' Dirty Dash (Title, HLC, VI, Rey, Snuggle/BMST, Prockets, Countermeasures) and I've been stomping lists left and right, (albeit vs. a less-than-tournament-level AI.)
I like PTL on Norra just for the Focus and TL every turn, but I'm not sure which mod is best for her. Thoughts?

Vts with Biggs for sure. Broll just sings with that aux arc and obstacle dodging shenanigans. Not many ships can snake through an obstacle field like VT ARCs can

I'm running the MILFs list, having a lot of fun with it.
Norra with PTL, R2-D2, Alliance, tail gunner
Shara with Weapons Engineer, bb-8 (this will change to M8), Alliance and wingman.
Biggles.
Works a treat in formation, as Shara allows Norra to re-roll, add the eye amd convert on one target, so she packs a punch. Biggs can even get to use the TL if the dice cooperate. Wingman is great too, not sure what else I'd spend the points on and it frees Norra for turns if needed.
I know it's mot massively competative, but it's working so far (3-1-1)

As for your question: I guess the reason might be that if you suffer a Direct Hit at the wrong time, you might not live to flip it.
Flew Thane yesterday with R2-D2, tailgunner, title, vectored thrusters. It was amazing honestly. went 2-1 and the game I lost was poor flying on my part teamed with a great opponent (only game where Arc died). Not going to say it is a tourney must have as i was worried about it, but it performed well and killed a few ships!
