Different game, obviously, but seems like there hasn't been any development on that capability in vassal since then.

Best I can find is that just adding the 'movement trail' option to the squadrons may help a bit identifying where they were moving from, but no 'snap' option :-(

I mean it's probably possible, but would most certainly involve custom java classes to implement. While it's not out of the realm of possibility for us to look into, it probably won't be something we see in the near future. We have some other projects to finish first ;)

We (Aresius, GK & DarthVeggie) have done an experiment:

By renaming our users after beloved My Little Pony (TM) characters we roll much better. Here is Greenie Pie, doing 10 damage and 2 accs from ISD from. And that's not even rolling with CF!

Darth Sparkle and Rainbowresius report similar increases in expected damage.

Clearly the dice roller is broken :P

Is 3.8.5 compatible with 3.8.4? A lot of missing components when I watch 3.8.4 games with 3.8.5.

We weren't able to duplicate the issue. Watching 3.8.4 games with 3.8.5 should be fine. Can you be more specific with what happened? If you have a logfile or savegame could you PM it to me? Feel free to take this to a PM if you wish.

I am going to change my question to asking why 8.5.0 is not back compatible with 3.8.4, then stubbornly sit here pretending that there is nothing wrong with the question....

I've been around vassal armada since the beginning...there ain't no 8.5.0 yet considering we are only on 3.5.0 ;)

New version released! 3.8.6 includes prototypes for all wave 7 content!

  • Added Bail Organa, Captain Brunson, General Draven, Instructor Goran, Strategic Adviser, Early Warning System, Heavy Ion Emplacements, Hardened Bulkheads, Ordnance Pods, Aspiration, and Sovereign
    • Governor Pryce and Bail Organa now have the ability to spawn the correct round tokens from their cards
    • You can spawn chaff tokens from either the pieces menu or from the Early Warning System card
  • Added Gar Saxon card and squad
  • Added Raid tokens. (still to do: add raid rules reference)
    • You can spawn raid tokens from the pieces menu, or from the cards that use them (Jyn Erso, Gar Saxon, and the Mandalorian Gauntlet fighter cards)
  • Updated graphics pack
  • Added the new wave 7 cards to the spawner-tokens' menus

This pleases me immensely.

Feature requests

Chaff tokens: add an option to spawn from ship base onto each hull zone, so that token stays with the ship/zone.

Raid tokens: add an option to spawn from base. I suggest forward left as the location of these tokens, corresponding to the layout for command tokens. TO make room, move scarred/veteran tokens to right forward, alongside flagship/objective tokens.

Edit: for ease of use, also consider adding autoreport functionality.

Autoreport on station hull change: same functionality as ship hull changes.

GK had started working on it, we’ll do too, initial plan is having all ships with at least 2 alternative paintjobs

Yeah, that's the real reason I quit: your incessant nagging over this :D

The dev team have the demo reskins I did. The reason I didn't do all of them was the lack of hi-res photos of all the ships. It's easy to reskin if you have a good image. With something grainy of the internet, not so much.

I would consider it convenient, if it was possible to switch on a sound whenever someone writes something in a game room. It happens quite often that someone makes a mistake but does not read about it in the comments of the other people there, because he is in the middle of his action.

or to Switch off the Sound at all ... which would pair better with teamspeak or other communication channels.

At least on a MAC it is afaik not possible to tune down or mute the vassal sound, since there is no mixer app available.

To mute/reduce volume, simply use your computer's volume mixer: look for the Vassal app in the list and mute/change volume as you like.

on a PC/Windows I would do exactly as mentioned. But on a MAC/MacOS unfortunatly the mixer tool is not existent.

And I did not find any good alternative app

This is pretty much what I meant by "better functionality". I figured it was better to get the new stuff out though, than wait for me to figure out that part of it.
