Looking for pictuers of Mels Minatures Dreadnaught (standard type)

By Salted Diamond, in Star Wars: Armada

Getting ready to place an order from Mels, and I am tying to decide on the dreadnaught. The more I look at it, the more the front seems almost too busy to me. I can't decide if it is a good look or not, and I'm thinking that seeing an actuall model of it would be the only way to make a decition one it. The only picture I can readly find is a rear shot of it.

So does anyone have one that can post pictures of the front of it? Please.

I've got a pair of them, but the sealer went on wrong, so it looks "frosted," like I landed them in Siberia, or similar.

I'll try to remember to take a few pictures, but I can tell you that the front is fine. It's got the single ridge, and some subdued "windows" on the flanks, but the upper surface is just hull plates.

I'll try to remember about those pictures.

The right one is Mel's.

That is super helpful DiabloAzul, as Tsalt was the other option I was looking at. I have 1 of Tsalts Assault Frigates, but then he stopped listing the Armada one on his store, and I could get Dreadnaughts and Mk1 RAF's matching with Mel.

Not nearly as well painted, but here's the ones I promised you.

Thanks JgzMan. Those still show some good detail of the "head" that I was looking for. I think I'll go for Mels, so I can get matching Mk1 RAF's.

For reference, Utar's Mk.I:

Does Utar still make/sell models? I have never seen them update or hear anything from them anymore. I have one of those from Tsalt, I think he was with Utar as they seem to be identical.

But the Armada scale is no longer avaible from him. So Mels it is.

Really cool stuff here

Utar is Tsalt, at least I believe they're the same person. He's been releasing a lot of 1/7000th scale sculpts as of late. Though his latest update removed his MK-I Assault Frigate.

Anyone know why Tsalt's 1/7000 cr-90 is smaller than his 1/7000 gr-75?

What plastics are people using for these? I find that the basic plastic is too grainy, but these pictures look great!

From what I see, the gr-75 should be the right size compared to the cr-90. Look at the "depth" for the length. I have the cr-90s and they are exact scale (they fit in a star destroyer hangar bay). The gr-75 should be about 1/3 the length of a cr-90, but they are wider.

I always get everything in Frosted Ultra Detail, myself.

A few more:

Thanks Mel!

How much to get you guys to paint my models for me?

I've really wanted to see some this small. Could you post pics?

Frosted Ultra Detail all the way. I have a couple of Neb-B2's in black strong flexible and the detail is almost non-existent.

I have a B-2, the RAF Mk1 pictured above, and a X-wing scale missile boat, and FUD is the only way to go. Well worth the price increase for the detail.

Here are the corvettes by tsalt (and some neb b's). They are frosted ultra at a great price. I don't have any transports yet. The nebs are white plastic and very grainy.

Amazing!

And now a swarm of 6 Gozanti on a base, plz.

And of course 12 Fighters on a stand.

There is someone that makes fighters in closer to scale, but due to being so small, they lose almost all of the detail. It came up in another thread. I'll try to find the link.

For me, I pretend that I'm a fleet admiral looking at my war room table. Therefore, each ship should look its size (hence why I have scaled down corvettes) and the larger squadron models are representative as squadron groups.

Kind of like this:
