See, I'm not looking at this as a way to flat out nerf Zuckuss or anything that can stack stress. I like Zuckuss, I often use him on the Mist Hunter piloted by 4LOM. I'm only looking for a new facet and option to go after ships that do want to stack stress.
Making stress matter again.
Changing how cloaking worked was one thing. It has only recently come out and was going through its growing pains and still only had one ship to look at. Stress has been around forever and since wave 2 stress stacks have been a thing.

Things change over time. What may have been fine and worked as intended for x amount of waves may need to be looked at and see if it's still working at intended.
Mountains of stress has been around since early waves, but as new upgrades and abilities are released, doesn't change the fact that it maybe it should be reviewed. The game is obviously changed a lot since early waves. Ffg has changed/updated rules. Look at the latest faq with the new timing chart. That's an update to our rules and has changes the way some abilities worked
Unfortunately during play testing with the amount of upgrades and pilots things are going to slip through the cracks. It's inevitable. To say "it's been this way from the very beginning" doesn't change the fact that maybe it should be reviewed and maybe updated. I'm not saying it has to change, but again as more and more stuff gets releases, it may become a possibility.
Maybe a rule change will come out, at the start of combat if a ship has more than 3 or 5 stress token roll an attack dice and suffer any hit results.
Maybe that's too extreme but just an example of something that could penalize a ship like dengar with Zuckass, but still make it difficult for control ships like a stressbot to dominate
Edited by Krynn007Jousters were already irrelevant before Jumpmasters, thanks largely to Palp aces. The sad truth is that, unless you have an EPT for Crackshot, your attacks will bounce off harmlessly off Palp Aces.
Take BBBBZ for example, which is one of the most effective non-Crack Shot jousting lists AFAIK. Does that have a realistic chance against Palp Aces?

And no BBBBZ didn't necessarily beat Palpaces before. It was great at defeating lists (like stress control lists) that could easily defeat Palpaces, that defeat BBBBZ.
As part of the ordnance fix, perhaps something should have been released to make these jousters have a chance against token stacking ships. Like a torpedo that costs tops 4 points and can hit past lots of tokens. Something to improve B-Wing, X-Wing, Misthunter,...
The design of ordnance in X-wing was going to simply result in stupid alpha strikes if they ended up being worthwhile.
What about making Zuckuss reroll all defense dice for 2 stress? That way he's more fixed in quantity but discourages use against an already unlucky roll. For example if I roll hit hit crit with Dengar and Soontir rolls 3 blanks and an evade, I'm unlikely to activate Zuckuss to really stick the boot in because chances are he'll get a better result the next time. It leaves Soontir taking a crit (I'm assuming auto thrusters is irrelevant in this situation and that palp is available or he has an evade token) Now depending on the situation you've either stripped Soontir's evade token and triggered palp at ps9 and will get a follow up attack or you've got a crit through and killed SD. Zuckuss can then be used on the follow up attack.
