Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, but I'll have fun with it anyway.
So as soon as this card was spoiled, your old buddy and resident T-65 fanboy started thinking of ways to apply this card to the T-65 in order to actually give them a decent chance.
Obviously it's use as a defensive upgrade makes it a prime target for keeping Biggs alive, so I decided to run with an old school Luke Biggs and Wedge list.
The general idea of the list is to take advantage of the versitility that M9-G8 offers by buffing Luke's attack or protecting Biggs, depending on the list I'm against.
If there are a low number of high damage ships (ie Aces, Falcons or Dengar from the hit band 'Dengaroo'), Wedge, moving last can lock onto the most dangerous target that threatens Biggs.
This way, when the ship attacks, a Crit can be left on the board (nommed by Luke), Biggs might be able to evade one with R3, and Wedge can force a reroll of another.
Provided Biggs is at range 3 for the first pass, I think the initial joust strongly favours the X-Wings here. Ok not really, but I can dream goddamn it. At least it will be better than 3 X-Wings normally would fare.
Against Swarms of enemies, Wedge instead locks Luke. This, combined with Predator gives 2 X-Wings very powerful attacks, with Luke even able to reroll a die against Dark Curse, his arch nemesis. Hopefully the X-Wings should be able to wear through enough of the Swarm before Biggs dies to give Luke an easy time mopping up in the endgame.
Anyway, that's my latest attempt to fly a thematic list whilst also not resigning myself to flying garbage.
