Scum Firespray lists

By Amos100288, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi,

Is anyone still flying firesprays?

I like playing scum, but currently only have a small collection of ships and I'm struggling to find a good build.

I've had occasional success with...

Kath Scarlet (Scum) — Outlaw Tech Total: 40

Palob Godalhi — Blaster Turret K4 Security Droid Moldy Crow Ship Total: 30

Drea Renthal — Ion Cannon Turret R4-B11 BTL-A4 Y-Wing Total: 30

Managed to do well against two IG's in one game. But in another game, Dengar, N'dru and Zuccuss focus fired the Ywing and HWK down then spent the rest of the game chasing Kath. She was one hit away from finishing Dengar at the end though. In another match, Wes, Biggs and Corran, tore Kath apart in a couple of rounds, though sheer luck Palob and Drea managed to last the whole 1hr15min we played. Palob finally being taken down in the last round. Wes and corran both had 1 hull left, but corran kept running away and regening hull. Ran a similar list with N'dru instead of Palob but all my ships got isolated and taken down very quickly.

Also tried out...

Boba Fett (Scum) — Firespray-31 39 Push the Limit 3 Seismic Charges 2 Recon Specialist 3 Engine Upgrade 4 Slave I 0 Ship Total: 51 Syndicate Thug — Y-Wing 18 Autoblaster Turret 2 Unhinged Astromech 1 Engine Upgrade 4 Ship Total: 25 2x Binayre Pirate — Z-95 Headhunter 12

Lost hopelessly, mainly due to poor starting position. Boba got isolated and focused fired. My Y-wing managed a land a grand total of 3 hits with Autobaster the entire game, and I couldn't get the Z's into the fight quick enough to act as blockers or support.

So any ideas for a reasonable Firespray list. I realise they aren't the best ships to begin with, but as I say I have a limited number of ships to begin with (plus who doesn't want to fly Boba Fett).

I have Most Wanted, Firespray, Falcon, B wing, A wing, HWK290 and a force awakens core set...plus I've just ordered a couple of copies of TLT.

Thanks

I had really good success during wave 8 with this list:

Kath Scarlet: (40)

-Attanni Mindlink

-Zuckuss

4-LOM: (28)

-Attanni Mindlink

Manaroo: (32)

-Attanni Mindlink

-K4 Security Droid

-Unhinged Astromech

Won my regionals dice + some other goodies over the season using it. I think Kath is at her best when she's lean. She can be a formidable part of a list, but she can't carry it all by herself. With Tailgunner coming into the mix, I'll be giving this a shot:

Kath Scarlet:

-Mindlink

-Tail Gunner

Manaroo:

-Mindlink

-K4

-Unhinged

-Plasma Torp

-Chips

Concord Dawn Vet:

-Mindlink

-Title

Kath appreciates blockers to help her line up her rear arc. When she has double focus, target lock and an evade token (thanks to Manaroo) she can often come out on top of exchanges with just about anything. Against higher PS ships, I sometimes even use her as a blocker. She can cover a lot of ground and no one expects it.

Nice to see others flying the Firespray. Success with your games! :)

Not many people fly them besides me, but the generic mando mercs are fun.

PS5 so ahead of most generics, and best of all an EPT slot. Saves you 3-4 points over Kath or boba, though they do have good abilities.

This is the best Scum Firespray inclusive list that I am able to make with your current expansions (after the TLTs arrive):

Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Palob Godalhi (20)
Determination (1)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Drea Renthal (22)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
Total: 100

I think Tailgunner should help make Kath even scarier.

  • Kath Scarlet, Predator, Tailgunner, Glitterstim

Is not a rear arc you want to be caught in.

Boba Fett is nice - I can say from experience he's a bugger to engage with swarms - but I'm not sure how to use him per se. In theory he can accrue dengaroo-levels of rerolls, so should be good if you can get him to close range and keep him there.

  • Boba Fett, Slave 1, Expert Handling, Autoblaster, Extra Munitions, Seismic Charges, Glitterstim, Countermeasures

The two together is 100 points on the dot.

Better off running outmanuver and dengar, or outmanuver/tailgunner if your meta is imp heavy to really wreck their day

Outmaneuver & Dengar vs Tailgunner & Predator.... it's a pretty close call.

  • Outmaneuver & Dengar gets you extra die rerolls against aces, and outmaneuver works in your forward arc too.
  • Tailgunner works even if they've got you in arc with the arc that really matters, and the combination is a point cheaper.

I think there's arguments both ways.

Outmaneuver/Tailgunner is a clearer-cut choice; taking away two evade dice is just death to Imperial Aces, but kind of irrelevant against big ships and heavy snubfighters like ARC-170s and B-wings - decide which one you see more of and pick accordingly.
