Can a character get both of the signatures abilities for his career?

For example can a smuggler get unmatched fortune attached to his completed gambler spec tree and also attach narrow escape to his completed pilot spec tree?

Why yes, they certainly can!

However, the two abilities must be connected to the bottom of two different in-career talent trees, so the character who has both will be exceptionally high-xp.

Not that that's always a bad thing!
