An Item can only be Discarded once. So it can only be discarded for one reason.

Remember, we don't have simultaneous , we have, "things are at the same time, so choose their order ."

We even have a caveat that says, "If something makes you spend something, that spend doesn't give you what you would normally get for spending it, either..."
