Scyk Swarm

Good day all. Has anyone considered or even tried the following:

A bit glass-jawed but I think it could be fun. If you have tried, please share how it turned out. Personally I love TIE swarms and this swarm has a bit of a punch; certainly not tournament grade but fun regardless.

It looks nice on 'paper' (because it is scyk), but unfortunetely if you will play with theese ships, they aren't that good as they seem to be. They're just overpriced for maybe 1-2 points (title) and that makes the difference, because you want to swarm theese things. I made a post in the same time, and IMO Protectorates would be much better swarm idea, exept you get more crits here, but PSs can equip AT and have EPT on ps 3 pilots, so hope we get some better pilots and/or title for scyks.

If you could squeeze Serissu with a tractor beam and Juke in there - then you would have something. Hence, the 1-2 pts overpriced title. The Ship should cost 12-13pts and perform a different role than the Z95, so no missiles or torps, just cannons. There shouldn't be a cannon tax either as all the cannons in the game come with a built in point cost to balance them (that's why the HLC is 7pts and the autoblaster if 5, etc.) So maybe 1 pt for the title. Serissu would set up the shots, and give some defensive balance to the ships (which they desperately need)

I'd also like to get a reasonable explanation (there isn't one by the way) why Laetn doesn't have an ept and why a Tansarii vet cost 3 pts more on a ship that is already 2 pts overcosted.

I'd also like to know why they made the exact same mistake again and again with the Starviper (came out at the same time, so some excuse there) and then again with an almost identical ship the Kihraxz (came out over a year later, same dial, similar health and same overpricing and no ept on Graz

I meant 1-2 points overall and that's the cost of title, but it shouldn't be free. Title is here for balance too, but ship is overpriced for what it can do, so swarming just extends that issue. But usually taking Serissu was worth it for me, exept she cant use her ability, se she is a squishy one (tryed with mindlink, and could survive more). Tractor is really powerful for swarms, as it is something like worse crackshot for all your ships (if hits).

So, first off, no one is putting 6+ points of upgrades on black squadron pilots. Crackshot and done. My opinion is that the Scyk is the scum tie fighter. It gets real easy to want to load them up with point, but it's not worth it in swarm building. Exception, I occasionally run 3 cartel mauraders with 2 mangler cartel spacers. It allows for some variety in the swarm.

The second issue, the binayre pirates are a more efficient choice when comparing the z-95 and syck. I do think the point vets are a good choice. Throw predator, PTL, juke, or crackshot and run Serissu with them. She helps the Sycks tank well. You use juke, take an evade each time and get defensive rerolls. You could potentially run a 5 ship swarm like that.

You could also blend summer binayre and vets and Serissu as well.

Right now I'm running Xizor, Serissu, and 3 binayre pirates.

I went 3 wins, 2 losses and 1 true draw. It was the first time I had run this squad and found it quite fun to fly. It does require a bit of thinking when you plan your moves in the turn.
