Liberty Test

By Buffalufacus, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

The only new ship I haven't flown yet is the Liberty. I threw this list together to try to make it work well, but I feel like something is missing either with a commander or just a general vision for the list. I'm not a great squadron flyer so I probably need to decide if I want to go all bomber or just Counter A Wings to knock out Bomber squads. I'm not sold on any ships in the list besides Liberty so any swaps are welcome, as are any other recommendations in general. I have 2 of all expansions so no need to worry about that!

I have noticed the theme as of late for Rebels is a bunch of smaller ships, and not a lot of large ships. Imperials in the last few tournaments have either ran 2 imperial class 2 star destroyers, or 1 imperial class 2 star destroyer and 3 Gladiator class 2.

Being new I am curious why not test 2 Liberty's? With Wave 5 introducing E-Wings it would be possible to do a lot more I would like to think

I plan on doing that later, but I was just seeing if this 4 activation sweet spot can be successful for me. 3 seems to be a bit lacking, 5 doesn't get enough firepower unless it's the CR90/MC30 lists.

You dont have enough bombers to make use of yavaris in my mind. And there is a fair chance yavaris will be first target, dont give them a bonus of taking your admiral off yhe board with it.

You should be looking to trade up with yavaris, and understand she is probably going to be a smoking ruin so as long as she takes out yhe biggest chunk of points with her its worth it.

Yavaris support refit?

I think this makes more sense for what I believe you're trying to do.

I'm guessing you're looking to joust. XI7 with Mon Karren is redundant. Points better used elsewhere. Give Salvation a nav token in round 1 then spam concentrate fire with Raymus re-roll tokens until the end. If you want the transpo to hit with slicer tools, no need for boosted Coms because you'll already be in the thick of it with the fighters. Keep your CR90 on the periphery shooting TRC and STAY OUT OF BLUE RANGE.

Why would be XI7 on Karren redundant? The enemy has the uncomfortable option of using only its brace token (Imperials have only one) and get all the damage into one shield, or use only the redirect token to save some of the shields... Or am I missing something here?

Unfortunately not.

Mostly because I suck at Math.

And even if I did not. I can't roll Dice to save my life, and have lost the last 15 games I played in a Row. I highly doubt you want my advice as anything other than a precautionary tale :D

Having flown the Lib a good few times now, I'd recommend Engine Techs - it's the only large ship in the game that can (currently) get to the speed 4. Using it to joust ISDs or even VSDs doesn't go well and plays into the Imperial player's hands/ strengths.

Maybe take Madine along with the Engine Techs and some Gunnery Teams. With effective speed four and the extra Madine yaw you can easily out position everything but a Raider (in an Imp fleet anyhow).

For extra survivability, Lando may be a good idea. You can make up for not having an Int.Officer (you've got a lot of blue dice to play with) and the Lib desperately needs some kind of defence beyond its tokens.

I like my Liberty light for the fights. They don't need too much.

Leading Shots is a requirement for my Battle Cruisers. Those red dice are so freaking unreliable.....and if you happen to roll too many accuracies Leading shots can help with that too.

It's saved my butt so many times...
