New T-70 Ship Builds - Squad Ideas?

By DeathToJarJar, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So we've got 3 new T-70 pilots to play with along with very interesting tech upgrades in the form of Pattern Analysis and Primed Thrusters. All 3 seem to have pretty good abilities; I've come up with a couple builds with them. Any thoughts on what type of squad they might fit in? Pava obviously wants a swarm of some kind but Snap and Nien seem to be pretty independant.

"Snap" Wexley (28)

- Primed Thrusters (1)

- VI (1)

- Black One (1)

- R3-A2 (2)

- Vectored Thrusters (2)

So this is a ship. R3-A2 is always good, but with Snap's ability to both boost & barrel roll even while stressed he can stay in the fight far longer than your typical "Stressbot", even arcdodging if neccessary. Black One synergizes really well with his ability, although you do need VI to take it.

Nien Nunb (29)

- Stay on Target (2)

- Targeting Astromech (2)

- Pattern Analysis (2)

- Integrated Astromech (0) [or Autothrusters if you have the points)

So this is also a ship. Nunb probably wants to stick to speed 3 maneuvers so he can Talon Roll if neccessary; his goal is to do a red maneuver, get in somebody's face, get a TL from Targeting Astro, remove said stress, and then focus - giving you, theoretically, a fully modded 4-dice attack. Even if he can't trigger his ability, Pattern Analysis allows him to focus so he continues to hit hard (and hopefully clear stress next turn).

Both of these clock in at 35 points. Any ideas on what sort of lists they'd be good in / other builds using the new stuff?

for me, the building blocks are

Jess

*r2-d6 (0)

*integrated (0)

*crackshot (1)

[26]

just simple and effective and efficient. R2-d6 for integrated and crackshot because it's crackshot.

Snap

*ptl (3)

*pattern analyzer (2)

*R2 astromech (1)

*integrated (0)

[34]

pattern analyzer puts "perform action" before check stress

so you execute a green manuever (any speed 2 thanks to r2, or 3 foward) and perform your action

THEN you PTL for another action and a stress

THEN you check pilot stress; remove a stress for performing a green manuever

THEN you can boost for free with Snap's ability

full mods + boost; no stress at the end. Leaves you free to troll next round if you need to

Nien Nub

*Stay on Target (2)

*Targeting Astromech (2)

*Integrated (0)

*Pattern Analyzer (2)

[35]

you've already figured this one out

list format is tricky, maybe because I've been playing ARCs for a month now so all I can see is big ARC, little ARC and Biggs

so, naturally, same goes for T-70s

http://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Rebel%20Alliance&d=v4!s!198:18,-1,2,204:-1:20:;175:27,-1,78,204:39:15:;4:-1,77:-1:20:&sn=ps%2010%20doesn%27t%20need%20a%20bid%2C%20right%3F

if you want to fly Nub instead, just drop Black One

Woah - didn't realize the interaction between PTL and Pattern Analyzer. That Snap build looks insane.

"Snap" Wexley (28)

- Primed Thrusters (1)

- VI (1)

- Black One (1)

- R3-A2 (2)

- Vectored Thrusters (2)

EDIT: realised you put VI on him, my bad.

Seems like a fun filler for the expensive Elites in the squad. Jess with M9 G8 is 1pt less though

Can easily spend 71/72 points on Snap and Nunb it whatever flavour you like

Did some testing and was, largely disappointed by snap

SoT nien is a hell of a lot of fun, though. I play t70s for the t-rolling and nien does it spectucularly

Only problem is full offensive mods dont compensate for the t70s horrid efficiency and you still get ruined during dice trades if you are not poe

Gotta try snapshot nien with r3a2. That little droid carried the far less efficient ARCs to victory so i hope it does the, same here

Could this work?

Jess -25

Biggs -25

Novice w/ R5, IA -25 (x2)

I'm almost 100% that R2 is better than R5 but gives you a tiny bit more survivability to keep modding Jess. And you don't want to outfly BiggyJess. I'm not the best at formation flying but this makes me want to put more practice in.

I've only been around since TFA Core but lists like this remind of Wave 1-3 squads with new toys added.

You really want to get an astromech on Jess & Biggs so you can use IA on them. Maybe something like this?

Jess (25)

- R2-D6 (1)

- IA (0)

- Crack Shot (1)

Biggs (25)

- R4-D6 (1)

- IA (0)

Tarn Mison (23)

- R7 Astromech (2)

- IA (0)

Rookie Pilot (21)

- R2 Astromech (1)

- IA (0)

I've been messing around with and enjoying this:

Nien Nunb 29, PTL 3, Autothrusters 2, Pattern Analyzer 2, R2D2 4 = 36

Poe Dameron 33, PTL 3, Autothrusters 2, Pattern Analyzer 2, R5P9 3, Black 1 = 44

Prototype Pilot = 15

The two hero T70s punch way above their weight class, because they regenerate and often have good action efficiency even on red moves (so they have a high "duty cycle" in combat, similar to TIE Defenders). A-wing blockers are known to be awesome.

With the PA, does this mean, if I am reading it correctly, I can Talon roll, with the T-70, then continue with an action (focus, or a boost) then take my stress after this?? Because this would suddenly bring a whole new lease of life to the T-70, for me any ways.

Yep. You don't get the stress token until after you do your action. Definitely really good on the T70, although the TIE/fo and TIE/sf certainly benefit as well.
