Is it just me, or does Snap Shot seem like a very nice addition for most ships in HotAC, but especially giving the A-Wing some much-needed oomph?

Yes! A-Wings are perfect because of their dual EPTs. The one drawback has always been the 2 attack dice, which you need to mitigate with Outmaneuver or Crack Shot. This seems like a great alternative/compliment.

(As you are shooting before the enemy takes their action, converting any 'evades' they roll into 'focus' results is just as good as making them blanks.
And you can do it twice a turn.

90% of the ships you'll face will be PS1 Academy Mooks though. Not too many ships will be maneuvering after you that you could catch with a snap shot.

You can also catch them when the move before you and move directly in front of you...
I like it on a Hawk/y-wing. I'm always going to be popping off the turret anyway, so a few free shots at range 1 is always nice.
If you've got a few players, it isn't that hard to get some ships to fly across and into your range 1 band.
In that set up, I'd combo it with Opportunist, and an Ion Cannon (or Ion Torp).
Two free dice isn't game breaking, but every little bit helps. And it lets you steal the kill from that annoying PS8 squadron leader who's always bragging about how great he is.
