Spaceship tickets

By leo1925, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Does anyone have any idea how much passengers must pay for spaceship tickets?
I am sure that the prices would change based on the kind of transportation, distance etc. but i don't know where to begin, can anyone help me?

I can pay you 2,000 now, and 15 when we reach Alderaan.

I don't recall seeing any tables on passenger prices so I imagine it is GM's discretion. Can base it on distance, danger, and accommodations

Yeah i remember that but i don't think we can use it as a base line, in that particular case obi wan great speed, utmost discretion and entice a criminal not to screw them over during the journey to Alderaan.

Ye olde WEG sourcebook had some numbers that will probably still be a good base.

Steerage 100

No frills 500

Luxury and charter 1000+

Modifiers:

Heavy travel route x1

Common route x2

Rare route x3

Uncommon route x5

You want to go where? x? (Charter only)

I agree. That was contracting an entire ship and its crew with the added "no Imperial entanglements" suggesting some danger to the ship/crew. Even so, the price given was "desperate", so I would never use this price as a baseline. OP asked just for tickets, so I imagine he meant simply hitching a ride on a shuttle or passenger liner, not contracting he entire ship.

I've got a long list of transportation costs that was based upon the fan document "Operational Costs". I apologize for not recalling the author's name. I tweaked it to my own liking:

PASSENGER (buying a ticket on a vehicle with bulk passengers)

Speeder Taxi within Settlement 20

Speeder Bus within Settlement 10 (specific route)

Speeder Tax to Nearby Settlement 100

Speeder Bus to Nearby Settlement 50 (specific route)

Speeder Bus to Far Settlement 100 (specific route)

Shuttle to Far Settlement 150

Shuttle to Far Side of Planet 250

Shuttle to Orbit 250

Shuttle to Nearby Planet 500

Shuttle to Far Planet 750

Liner within Sector 1,000

Liner within Region 2,000

Liner to Adjacent Region 5,000 (long wait)

Liner Across Multiple Regions 10,000 (long wait)

RENTAL (actually renting an entire ship, if crew is required double the cost)

Speeder Bike 60 per day

Landspeeder 100 per day

Airspeeder 200 per day

Shuttle (non-jump) 1,500 per day

Transport (jump) 3,000 per day

Luxury versions (luxury passenger liner ticket, renting a yacht or high class speeder) can cost 2x or 4x the rates above.

Didn't meant to be taken literally. Just seemed right time to drop in that movie line, :P

Ghost and Sturn appear to have some good breakdowns there.

@Sturn

I am asking about booking passage in a hyperspace capable ship for transportation to other planets but thank you anyway.

@Ghostofman

Those prices are quite good (though maybe a bit high) but anyway thank you, they seem like good baselines.

Keep looking down the list.

Coming in handy for my next session. Thanks!

Yes i saw them, they seem quite high to me for simple legal (not smuggling, non fugitive etc.) transportation.

Consider that the standard ticket for a simple, legal cruise in reality can run $500-1000, I wouldn't say it's all that out of line.

Yeah but i think that transportation to another sector of the same region to be akin to travel to another country within the same coninent and the plane (or train) tickets for that aren't that expensive.
