Airen Cracken and Cluster Missiles

By Rinzler in a Tie, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I'm still hazy on the timing chart: Does Airen's ability proc twice for Cluster Missiles?

Based on the attack chart in the FAQ, I would say yes. 'After attack' abilities that do NOT perform another attack occur before 'after attack' abilities that DO perform another attack.

No. Only once. Since the flowchart went in, effects that happen after attacking/defending can only happen after the last attack of a multi-attack weapon. (All other timings, like "when attacking", "when rolling attack dice", "when modifying dice", etc. can still happen on every shot.)

Okay - I assumed the latter.

But I will point out that Gunner procs Tactician twice...

Edit: Note to self, don't try to answer rules questions at 3 in the morning.

You see the blue arrow that leads to the boxes you've posted? That is the "no" arrow coming from a step saying "Is this the first attack from a secondary weapon that says “Perform this attack twice”?"

I.e. you only get to those boxes after the last attack of a multi-attack weapon.

Like Quarrel said.

Gunner creates a brand new, completely separate attack. It doesn't fall under the same new rules as multi-roll weapons do.

Gunner does not trigger Tactician twice. The first failed attack with whatever you used, triggers Tactician the first time, and also triggers Gunner. The brand new, completely separate attack will trigger Tactician again.

Lol ok boss

I won my first Store Championship with this list, which doesn't work anymore :'(

Bandit Squadron Pilot + Homing Missiles
Bandit Squadron Pilot + Homing Missiles
Airen Cracken + Veteran Instincts + Cluster Missiles
Wild Space Fringer + "Mangler" Cannon + Recon Specialist + Outrider

I had to take down Mu0n's Han + Tycho in top 4, and BBBBZ is the final with it. Good times!

Edit: I just dug up my write up of that Store Championship (and the other 2 from that year)... Oh god the memories.

How on Yavin did Airen get through flight school with a Surname like Cracken?
