"Another" friendly ship, does not.

I had that same dilemma yesterday.. It says distance 1 - 3 which confused me as I figured the Interdictor itself would be distance 0.

Hate that wording. It means up to distance 3. The exact wording of distances have rules in the RRG.

At, within etc

You're always at distance 1 of yourself. There is no distance 0. For some reason.

You're always AT distance 1 of yourself. There is no distance 0. For some reason.

Cause you used the word AT

For reference, RRG page 7:

- A ship or squadron is always at close range and distance 1 of itself.
