Miniatures Of Madness - 1st Edition Conversion Process (not so smooth)

By FBarich, in Mansions of Madness

Whew.

I must admit that converting the 1st Edition Miniatures to 2nd Edition was a daunting process due to the removal of Monster Tiles. Unless you foresaw the coming of 2nd edition and perhaps oiled your tiles, you will have a very tough time.

I thought I was careful when I glued and let the miniatures sit for a day or two before inserting the tiles - but due the vaporous nature of super glue (meant for plastics) - it still adhered the Monster Tile to the mini.

I literally had to take an Exacto Knife to 90% of the tiles and score it up and carefully (or so carefully) rip them out with small needle nose pliers like a dentist bit by bit.

Only jabbed my hand once out of 33 minis which was not so bad.

I did notice that there are no Monster Tokens for the 1st Edition Cultists - only The Cult Leaders - so six 1st edition Cultists get benched.

And how's your current San? Everything ok? Your new cult robes look fancy on you, btw

:P

Pardon...new on the block. Not sure what you mean?

Sorry, didn't notice you're new to the forum. No worries, I was just joking (rather a common - but never old - joke about fellow forumites is how much draining for your mental resources these games are, which is rather thematical for the HPL worlds)

Apologies for the confusion, and welcome to the forum :)

Cheers. My Sanity is holding up as I carefully prep the 2nd Edition mins for priming.

None of mine stuck, pulled out just fine. Had to push some of the new tiles in with a flat piece of metal they were so tight. Did notice some of the pegs on 2nd ed minis stuck through the base and would stop the tile from moving, trimmed them of course.

I benched my 2nd ed cultists in favor of using my already painted first ed cultists. I believe the cultists were added so that not having a first ed game wasn't an issue.
