A couple more questions

By whiskeytango, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

1. With Rieekan, is it possible to bring a ship back to life? Say with repair teams and engineering points? Or is dead dead?

2. With weapons that have special critical effects, whats the order they resolve in? The same as card criticals, as in the last thing resolved, or is it when they hit?

1) Its always going to be Dead. That's why they're called Zombies by a few people... You're ALive, you're a Zombie, you're Dead... There's no coming back. This is because the trigger that goes off is "YOU ARE DEAD AT THE END OF THE TURN", rather than "YOU ARE DEAD IMMEDIATELY"... You may take Damage cards off the Ship, but the Trigger is never removed....

2) Follow the Attack Chart:

Roll Your Dice.
You Modify Your Dice.
Your Opponent spends Defense Tokens

NOW We are at the Damage Step.

IF you have a Critical Symbol showing on at least one dice, you may now resolve ONE critical effect.... That Critical Effect happens IMMEDIATELY .... So if you have Assault Proton Torpedos, you immediately deal a face up damage card to the enemy... If its Advanced Concussion missiles, then you immediately deal damage to the adjacent hull zones... If it is the default Critical effect, you immediately declare that "The First Damage card Dealt this turn, will be Face up...."

That's it.

It doesn't matter how many critical symbols you have (this is not X-Wing)... All that matters is that you have at least one .

NOW, you get to Count out how many Hit and Crit symbols are showing on the dice, to give you a "Damage Number". If you're shooting at a ship, the Difference in the symbols is now irrelevant .... Hit is 1, Crit is 1... Just tally them up...

Brace then halves that Damage Number. IT DOES NOT HALVE THE NUMBER OF DICE ... The Dice themselves are now irrelevant, now that you have your Damage Number.

AND NOW, you inflict that damage to the target, one point at a time.......

Let me join in with my own questions:

1) I roll 4 damage, including a crit with APT. Does that mean that my opponent gets one face up damage even if he has shields?

2) Does the APT damage card is added beyond the damage I already dealt? Speaking of 4 damage does it mean that the target with no shield would suffer one faceup card because of APT and four more facedown?

Yes and Yes, as per above and below:

You have 4 Damage in total, let us say, its like this:

HIT/CRIT , HIT , CRIT

No Defense Tokens were used, as none were available. There are no Shields on the Target.

At the start of the Damage Step, you immediately Deal a Face Up Damage Card through APTs.... Now, your opponent had no shields, but it doesn't matter. That is a Face up Damage card even if they had 5 Shields there, because the Card states that you deal A FACE UP DAMAGE CARD , Not Dealing "One Point of Damage".

There is a big difference between Damage, and Damage Card.

So straight away, before you've even counted the points on your dice, you've done one Face up Damage card.

Now you count, and you get to 4... HIT, CRIT, HIT, CRIT... 4 Points...

You deal these one at a time to your enemy.

Point One? Shield? No. Damage card.

Point Two? Shield? No. Damage card.

Point Three? Shield? No. Damage card.

Point Four? Shield? No. Damage card.
