I noticed that over time, ships have different paint jobs even on the same ones. Example my 2nd Star Viper has the paint job on the wings much different then the one I picked up last year. By no means am I complaining, as I think its cool to have something different from what someone else might have, in fact it might even be rare. As I have heard, it seems like all of the ships from year to year are a bit different with lines or sight differences in colors or maybe the models get a little cleaner from production to hand so there easier to paint. I did notice the black sun logo is a little lower on the new one (on the right)

I assume they are, at least partially, hand-painted...

I got my first game in since the surgery. I had a friend come over for HotAC and we played with my 11 year old. His attention was seriously wandering, but he had a fun time. 3 of us for the intro mission. It was a little dicey there for a bit, but we just managed to clear up all the ships in 10 rounds. Oh, and I almost had to use Integrated Astromech to stay alive! Good times.

TIE Bombers used to be gray, now they're blue. It's kind of fun... TIE craft have starting getting more and more blue in shade over the years!

X-Wing spending has largely supplanted my LEGO budget over the last couple years. I suppose I am in a dark/dim age. I also blame having a kid, building LEGO is just so much more time consuming I can't get to it.

But when I was in the club, boy was I in! Here I am at Brickfair a few years ago with our Pharaoh's Labyrinth layout:

Yeah, I know! I'm a huge Lego fan, but I never understood why other AFOLs got so worked up about it!

I remember a lot of people said it ruined their castle creations to have two different colors of stone, but I remember thinking that real rocks aren't all the same color either... personally I prefer having four colors of grey rather than two to choose from!

Maybe there's a lesson here that applies to X-Wing...

And yeah, I wonder what the overlap between X-Wing and Lego fans is. I probably have at least 300,000 Lego bricks and I have at least two of every X-Wing product (including base packs, Most Wanted, etc.) other than Scyk, Kihraxz, E-Wing, G1-A, and Millenium Falcon (which I have one each of)! That's why I can't afford a car and have to ride the bus everywhere...

I thought the only had painted part of the model was the wash, i wonder if the change to disney/asmodee has any effect on the models the way it did on the pegs.

I have noticed the color variations on many of the ships over the years. You can almost tell which printing it is by the coloring.

And yes, i do have a not insignificant lego collection/bricklink store. Although between the store and family, X-wing time gets less and less.

I have 4 bombers and two are a different shade of blue from the other two. I kind of like it
